摘要: A method to control the position of a throttle valve in the presence of a fault. The method works independently of throttle position in an open-loop mode. The method assures that the throttle plate will assume the default position if: 1) the return spring is functional and the motor is functional; 2) the return spring has failed but the motor is functional; or 3) if the return spring is functional but the motor has failed. This method does not need to detect loss of return spring functionality and it does not need to detect loss of motor functionality. The detected fault that initiates the action need not be related to either the return spring or the motor.

摘要: An on-vehicle engine control apparatus carries out engine drive control and throttle control using one single CPU and improves safety. The apparatus includes a load relay for feeding a power to a motor that controls throttle valve opening, a first IC (integrated circuit element) containing a CPU, and a second IC connected to the first IC via serial interfaces. The apparatus further includes a first mutual diagnostic device incorporated in the first IC and diagnoses operation of the second IC, a second mutual diagnostic device incorporated in the second IC to diagnoses operation of the first IC, and a detector for detecting an abnormality in operation of each system involved in throttle valve control. Operation of the load relay is controlled based on diagnostic results and abnormality detection results of the first and second mutual diagnostic devices.

摘要: A returning spring 7 of the electronic control throttle and a default spring 8 for securing an initial opening degree (default opening degree) of the throttle valve 3 have diameters different from each other, and both of the springs 7, 8 are held around a shaft of the throttle valve shaft 3 and arranged between a gear 43 attached to the throttle valve shaft 3 and a wall portion of the throttle body 100. A shaft supporting gap of the throttle valve shaft 3 is filled with an air leak preventing material, and a minimum opening degree on control purpose of the throttle valve is set to a value larger than an amount of overshoot of the throttle valve occurring when opening degree of the throttle valve is changed from a maximum opening degree on control purpose of the throttle valve to the minimum opening degree.

摘要: An electronic throttle control system is described where a throttle position sensor has multiple slopes depending on the operating region. At low throttle positions, a greater slope, and thus a greater sensitivity is provided, thereby increasing control resolution. At greater throttle positions, a lower slope, and thus lower sensitivity is provided. In this way, an output signal that varies across the entire operating region of the throttle is provided for monitoring and control, while improved performance at low throttle angles can be simultaneously achieved. A method of making the sensor is also described.
