    Abstract: A system may have a closure with an electrically controlled actuator. Sensor circuitry may gather user input. The sensor circuitry may include a force sensor, touch sensor, proximity sensor, and/or other sensors. Based on input from the sensor circuitry, the closure may be slid relative to a system body or may otherwise be moved relative to the body. The sensor may receive user input from a user's fingers. This allows the movement of the closure to track user hand motions. To open and close the closure, a user may press against closure edge sensors mounted to edges of the closure. Closure motion may also be controlled by button press input, proximity sensor readings, touch sensor input and/or other user input provided to an input device in the system.

    Abstract: A sensor for an anti-entrapment system of a vehicle for preventing an object within an opening of the vehicle defined by a movable panel from being pinched by the movable panel includes a seal adapted to be mounted to a portion of the vehicle, an electrically conductive mounting carrier disposed in the seal and having a formed shape and operable to detect the object in the path of the movable panel and to generate a pinch sensor signal indicative of the object either touching the seal or in close proximity to the seal, and a controller for monitoring the electrically conductive mounting carrier, wherein the controller controls the movable panel to prevent the movable panel from pinching the object in response to the pinch sensor signal.

    Abstract: A bus includes a vehicle body, a plurality of doors, a nosing seal, at least one sensor disposed inside the nosing seal, wherein the at least one sensor capacitively couples to an electrically conductive moving object proximal to the nosing seal such that the capacitance of the at least one sensor changes, and a controller coupled to the at least one sensor, the controller analyzing the sensing by the at least one sensor and senses a non-smooth signal from the at least one sensor and determines that an obstruction is present, senses signal fluctuation from the at least one sensor is not monotonic and determines that an obstruction is present, senses that the one of the doors has not closed after a predetermined time period and determines that the obstruction is present, senses that one of the doors has stalled and determines that the obstruction is present, the controller being configured to alert an operator of the bus when the obstruction is present.

    Abstract: An entrapment detection sensor that detects entrapment caused by an opening/closing body includes an anode sensor electrode and a cathode sensor electrode. The anode sensor electrode is set on the opening/closing body at a location where entrapment caused by the opening/closing body occurs. The cathode sensor electrode is set on the opening/closing body at a location spaced apart by a gap from the anode sensor electrode. The entrapment detection sensor detects a charged object that approaches the anode sensor electrode as an entrapment subject and cancels detection of the charged object that approaches the cathode sensor electrode.

    Abstract: This pinching detection device of a power window is provided with: a sensor electrode provided in a windowpane; a position-detecting electrode that opposes the sensor electrode; and a control unit. The size of an opposing surface area between the sensor electrode and the position-detecting electrode increases as the windowpane is raised. The control unit detects pinching of foreign matter on the basis of a change in capacitance in the sensor electrode and detects a position in the windowpane on the basis of the change in capacitance.
