The invention relates to a scaffolding system for volumes of various shapes that present a bottom (20) and end walls. The system comprises at least a first scaffolding structure comprising a gantry having at least two interconnected vertical poles (56); means (50, 52) secured to said bottom of the volume to guide the poles in rectilinear displacement in a longitudinal direction; a horizontal main platform (60) defining at least a working floor, and means (64) for guiding said main platform in vertical translation along said poles; at least two horizontal auxiliary platforms (66) each defining a working floor mounted to move in horizontal translation relative to said main platform; and means for displacing each auxiliary platform (66, 68) separately relative to the main platform between a retracted position and an extended position in which the outer edge of the auxiliary platform is substantially in register with the outer edge of the main platform.
Abstract:
Equipment support systems and modular platforms provide an equipment support portion with lateral walkways and work areas. The platforms have a skeletal frame that supports a plurality of grates to form the work area. The frame of the platforms also has a number of support legs with circular bases at their lower ends to rest upon the roof or other support surface. The circular bases distribute the load of the supported equipment evenly upon the roof so that specific spots are not overloaded. Outriggers may be removably added to the platform to increase the dimensions of the platform thereby making the platform and supported equipment less prone to overturning from wind loading. Methods are described for providing a support platform designed to resist a specific design wind load. In some preferred embodiments, one or more of the support legs of the platforms are adjustable in length, to allow portions of the platform to be adjusted for differential settlement of the roof.

A roof mount includes a base member and an attachment mount. The base member has a protrusion, and the attachment mount defines a hollowed region for receiving the protrusion to form a compression fitting. A substantially leak proof assembly is formed when the attachment mount is placed against the base member with a sealing material therebetween and a connecting element for coupling the attachment mount to the base member extends through the sealing material. A spacer extends the base member to a roof surface. The spacer is a hollow base stand, a tube, or a side wall of the base member. The spacer has a surface area covering the roof deck less than the surface area of a side of the base member facing the roof deck. The invention includes a method of limiting wind uplift of a roof.

A safety line system includes support assemblies which clamp to respective reinforcement bars protruding upward beyond the top surface of a concrete beam. The support assemblies include stanchion assemblies having respective posts that may be selectively pivoted relative to the beam. The support assemblies also preferably include end anchor assemblies that are connected to respective stanchion assemblies by respective chains.

A method of constructing catwalks and building scaffolds without cutting slopes, and without damaging mountainous areas, comprising the steps of 1) dropping at least two vertical ropes along a slope; 2) joining the vertical ropes by a set of upper and lower horizontal ropes, at a predetermined spaced interval; 3) joining these horizontal ropes to bar-like base structures; 4) erecting at least one pillar on the first base structure joined to the lower rope; 5) and placing and fixing plate-like structures on the second base structure joined to the upper horizontal rope and joined on the pillar or pillars.
Abstract:
A guardrail system for a pitched roof of a building including a plurality of pitched roof members includes a plurality of end post supports that may be installed from ground level. Each of the end post supports may include a U-shaped body having a first segment for removably fastening to an end of a respective roof member, and having a second segment extending outwardly from the respective roof member with a gap therebetween defined by the U-shape. The end post supports may also include a post receiver connected to an upper end of the second segment of the U-shaped body, and a stabilizer carried by the U-shaped body for extending against an adjacent wall portion below the pitched roof. The guardrail system may further include a respective post carried by the post receiver of each end post support, and rail members to be connected between adjacent end posts.

A roof scaffolding system includes a support assembly disposed on one inclined surface of a roof extending to a peak of the roof and attached to an opposite inclined surface of the roof near the peak thereof, a roof jack resting on the one inclined surface of the roof astraddle and connected to the support assembly, a valley support assembly disposed on a valley of the roof along one side of the one inclined surface and extending to the peak of the roof and attached to the opposite inclined surface of the roof near the peak thereof, and a valley jack astraddle the valley of the roof and valley support assembly and anchored to the valley support assembly. The roof and valley jacks are spaced apart so as to support a flat board extending therebetween.
