摘要： A bracket assembly for supporting a gutter and hood includes a gutter support bracket and a mating hood support bracket. The gutter support bracket provides a cantilever support for a K-type gutter by connecting the front and rear lips of the gutter. The hood support bracket fastens to the gutter support bracket such that fastener-receiving apertures defined in both brackets align. The hood is supported by an upper arm of the hood support bracket in a position to define a longitudinal gap between the hood forward lip and the gutter front lip. A fastening tool and fastener are inserted through the gap to secure the hooded gutter assembly to a structure.

摘要： An automatic down spout extension system including an extension spout pivotally attached to the lower end of a down spout, and a ballast container attached to the distal end of the extension spout. An insert including a number of side openings is attached at the upper end of the down spout, and a hose extends from the bottom of the insert to the ballast container. Rainwater from the rain gutter flows down the down spout and a portion of the water flows through the hose and fills the ballast container at the end of the extension spout. The weight of the water in the ballast container causes the extension spout to move to an extended working position. A spring interconnecting the extension spout and the down spout biases the extension spout in an upright storage position. A drain opening in the ballast container allows water to run out, and when the rain stops and the container empties, the spring pulls the extension spout to an upright storage position.

摘要： The present invention is a rain water downspout for shooting water away from a building. It includes a vertical downspout column for receiving and holding rainwater. The downspout column has an outlet at its lower end. A buoyant column inside the downspout column rests on the bottom of the downspout column and blocks the downspout column outlet until the downspout column fills with enough water to cause the buoyant column to float. A nozzle is attached to the downspout outlet. The nozzle can be oriented to shoot a stream of water away from the building. When the buoyant column inside the downspout rises, water flows out of the downspout column under pressure and shoots out from the nozzle away from the building.

摘要： A method and apparatus for preventing blockage of a water flow path from a gutter of a building through a downspout includes a receptacle which is rotatably supported beneath the gutter. The receptacle is movable between a collecting orientation and an emptying orientation under the influence of the weight of water and debris conducted from the gutter to the receptacle when the receptacle is in the collecting orientation. The receptacle includes a compartment having an outlet through which water passes prior to collection of debris in the compartment. As debris collects in the compartment and at least partially blocks the outlet so that water also collects in the compartment, the combined center of gravity of the receptacle and the water and debris in the compartment moves from one side of a vertical plane containing the axis about which the receptacle rotates to the opposite side of the plane. As this occurs, the receptacle is rotated from the collecting orientation to the emptying orientation. It is contemplated that the receptacle may be constructed with either a single compartment or a plurality of compartments.

摘要： An automatic downspout drain extension that automatically deploys into a downward position upon the weight of an entrained column of fluid. The automatic downspout drain extension includes a downspout member that depends from a gutter and is secured to a wall of a structure to which the gutter is mounted. The terminal end of the downspout is connected to a flexible elbow having a first end and a second end. The flexible elbow is secured between the downspout and the extension member. The extension member is an elongated conduit that includes an energy dissipater carried by the distal end of the extension member. The energy dissipater includes a liquid absorbing insert. A spring member biases the extension member in the upright position. As water flowing off of the roof exits the gutter and flows into the downspout, the downspout and extension member simultaneously fill with water until the weight of the column of water in the extension member overcomes the biasing force of the spring member and allows the extension member to deploy downward. Water flowing from the extension member saturates the liquid absorbing insert. The weight of the saturated liquid absorbing insert is sufficient to overcome the biasing force of the spring member, thus maintaining the extension member in the folded down, or deployed, position.
