The invention relates to a planing device mounted on machines for processing ice. The inventive device is used in the area of the ice surface located close to the barrier and comprises a blade which is mounted with the carrier thereof on the lateral wall of the planing side that is provided on the machine. The planing device rests with an edge on the ice surface. The invention is characterized in that the blade can be moved from a lifted non-operating position into the working position by means of a driving mechanism.

A snow throwing shovel device for easily removing snow from narrow sidewalks and from steps where a conventional snow blower cannot be used. The snow throwing shovel device includes a scoop assembly including a housing having top, bottom, side, and back walls, and also having an open front; and also includes an elongate chute being attached to the scoop member and through which snow is moved; and also includes a discharge spout being rotatably mounted to the elongate chute; and further includes handle members being attached to the elongate chute; and also includes an assembly of picking up snow and moving snow through the elongate chute.

A snow removal apparatus for safely removing snow from irregular surfaces covered with debris such as small stones and gravel. The snow removal apparatus includes at least one roller for spacing a snow removal member of said apparatus a fixed distance above a highest point on a surface below the snow removal member. In a first aspect of the invention, a ground shield and a roller are mounted on a lower portion of a snowblower. In a second aspect of the invention, a ground shield and multiple rollers are mounted on a lower portion of a snowblower which is carried on a small tractor.

The invention relates to a snow grooming device, which can be attached to a tool carrier in the front or back of a snow grooming vehicle and which is provided with a snow conditioning tool that can be coupled to the tool carrier, and with a tiller unit on the same side of the vehicle. To create a better application potential for conditioning the snow base with this snow grooming device, in spite of its simple design and simple operation, it is suggested according to the invention that the tiller unit is designed as an exchangeable adapter separate from the conditioning tool, and that it can be separately coupled to and uncoupled from the vehicle.

A milling unit for the beating of snow-covered slopes consisting of a box-shaped structure comprising a central part to which two side parts are connected by hinging elements, in order to allow for oscillation. The structure has two hooking elements for its connection to a tool-holder, in turn connected to a rear part of the vehicle and, on the opposite side the structure has a rake for the beating of the snow. Inside each of the side portions of the structure there is a side miller and within the central structure there is a central miller, where the side millers can be activated in rotation by at least one motor, and each one of them is connected to the central miller by a constant-velocity transmission. The hinging axles do not pass through the axles of the central and the side millers.

A snow grooming apparatus and system for grooming snow barriers and elements. The apparatus has an inlet to accept the snow, and at least one smoothing member attached to the rear of the inlet. The smoothing members are dimensioned to pass over the snow formed by the inlet and to smooth at least one side of the snow such that the resulting barrier has at least one substantially smooth side. The system includes the snow grooming apparatus attached to a blade of a snow grooming vehicle.

A snow removing machine equipped with a snow removing plate is disclosed. The snow removing plate is mounted to a front portion of a vehicle body which forms part of the snow removing machine. An operating handle having grip portions is mounted to a rear portion of the vehicle body and obliquely extends upward. A battery, an electric motor and a power transmission mechanism are located below a linear line intersecting between an upper end of the snow removing plate and the grip portion. This causes the battery, the electric motor and the power transmission mechanism to be located below a view line of an operator when he looks at the snow removing plate, avoiding the view line from being disturbed to allow the operator to look at the upper end of the snow removing plate in his working attitude for thereby providing ease of operation of the snow removing machine.

A snow thrower engine carburetor is covered by a heater box provided with a channel through which air passes so as to be heated by the engine's muffler. The heated airstream is changed in direction as it leaves the heater box and moves towards the carburetor whereby moisture carried in the airstream is separated therefrom before the heated air reaches the carburetor.

A vehicle-mounted ice-scraping mechanism includes a tool carrier mounted on the vehicle, and a plurality of non-rotatable ice-scraping tools mounted on the tool carrier and depending downwardly therefrom. Each tool includes a shank mounted to the tool carrier, and a cutting head depending downwardly from the shank. The cutting head is formed of a steel main body, and a carbide insert is mounted in the steel body at a location spaced from a front end of the steel body. During a wear-in period, front and bottom surfaces of the steel body define a rake face and a clearance face, respectively, of the tool. After the wear-in period, front and bottom surfaces of the insert define the rake face and clearance face, respectively. The tool is oriented such that the shank and the rake face extend upwardly and forwardly to define a positive rake angle. The tool shanks are cylindrical and are mounted in cylindrical bores in the tool carrier. The cutting heads are situated so closely together that they abut one another and thereby prevent rotation of the tools relative to the tool carrier.
