A system of machine direction yarns is interwoven with both cross machine direction layers, with each machine direction yarn forming first and second knuckles on each side of the fabric. The paper side knuckles are woven with uniform spacing and each machine side cross machine direction yarn is passed under by two machine direction knuckles spaced by at least one intermediate machine direction yarn.

    摘要: A pulp former's sealing blades extend between the headbox slice and twin forming wires and are bonded and/or pinned to blade supports which mount the blades to the slice. The blade supports have flat mounting surfaces which extend in the machine and cross machine directions and which overlie or underlie the blades supports. The blades may be affixed to the supports with an adhesive film. The supports are in turn mounted to the upper and lower sides of a pulp former headbox slice. After the adhesive bond is formed, holes are drilled through the flexible blades and into the blade supports. The holes are filled with pins which are mounted flush to the pulp side surfaces of the flexible blades. The holes through the flexible blades may be tapered, and the corresponding tapered portions of the pins may be used to clamp the flexible blades to the blade supports.

    摘要: The invention concerns a loading device for the dewatering a web-forming wire, which supports and/or loads the wire of a paper machine and scrapes water from the wire surface. The loading device is loaded by a pressure medium and includes a movable loading member and a fixed base member. The loading member includes a longitudinal groove which extends the length of the loading member and the base member includes a slide rail adapted to be received in the longitudinal groove for supporting the loading member. In order to eliminate jamming phenomenon of the loading member, the loading member is supported evenly in its position in a cross machine direction and it is adapted to move towards the wire and away from the wire with aid of rollers arranged between the slide rail and the internal walls of the loading member which define the longitudinal groove.

    摘要: A non-woven web of fibrous material is produced using a moving foraminous element in the practice of the foam process. A first foam slurry of air, water, fibers and a surfactant is generated and centrifugally pumped into contact with the moving foraminous element. Substantially fiber-free foam is withdrawn from the foraminous element while forming a non-woven web of fibrous material on the foraminous element, and at least a part of the substantially fiber-free foam is used in the generation of the first foam slurry. Recycling is also typically practiced using a centrifugal pump, and the centrifugal pumps are preferably degassing pumps which remove some of the gas from the foam. By practicing the invention it is possible to produce fibrous webs using the foam process that are more than two meters wide, and at a forming speed of more than about 100 m/min (e.g. about 200-500 m/min).

    摘要: A method and apparatus for beginning the formation of a paper web on a traveling forming wire, or between a pair of converging forming wires, includes a headbox on a papermaking machine for projecting a stock stream onto the forming wire, or between the forming wires over the porous face surface of a forming shoe. The forming wire or wires are looped to travel in a continuous path, and within at least one of the looped forming wires is the forming shoe, which is porous by way of grooves or openings over at least a portion of its face surface. The grooves are in the surface of the forming shoe which engages the inner surface of the looped forming wire to define a portion of the path of travel of the forming wire adjacent the headbox from which the stock stream is projected onto, or between, the forming wire(s). The grooves extend in the surface facing the forming wire from a point downstream of the leading edge in the nose portion of the face surface of forming shoe in the direction of forming wire travel. The grooves are angled at a small angle relative to the direction of forming wire travel. The grooves or openings receive water through the forming wire to gradually reduce the amount of water in the stock to control the initial stage of the formation of the nascent paper web on the forming wire over the forming shoe.
