摘要： A mechanical garment press assembly enables users to mechanically press garments during travel and may be stored or carried in combination with standard carry-on luggage. The garment press assembly comprises opposed outer resilient planar members, each of which has a hinge end and a clamp end. A hinge member flexibly interconnects the hinge ends. Clamping structure clamps the clamp ends toward one another after a (wrinkled) garment section is received intermediate the opposed outer planar members for imparting primary wrinkle-removing forces into the target garment section. Tension members interconnect the hinge ends to the clamp ends and retain the resilient members is bowed tension for imparting secondary wrinkle-removing forces into the target garment section. Various portable assemblies are contemplated based on the foregoing basics as well as a home-based version. Certain garment pressing methods are also described based on the foregoing basics.

摘要： An apparatus and method for loading flat articles of clothing into a laundry processing unit is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a frame having an entrance opposite an end of a conveyor belt, at least one loading post controlled by an operator, with a first pair of clamps for an article of clothing, and means for lifting the clamps until the article is transferred to a second pair of clamps associated with a spreader, including a pivoting arm supporting clamps connected to a slide slidably mounted on a tilted guide rail and rotation driving means of arm and translation driving means of slide serve to move clamps in a combined translation and rotation trajectory. The apparatus further comprises different modules mounted on respective chassis adapted to produce relative movements and to adopt different positions with respect to frame in order to provide at least one operating mode, suitable for loading articles of clothing, and at least one transport mode, suitable for providing an overall reduced volume appropriate for transporting the apparatus.

A substantially higher ironing quality, especially where sensitive textiles are concerned, can be achieved by the invention, because the ironing pressure can be preselected reproducibly within very fine steps.

摘要： A method for processing table and bed linen which embodies no-iron fabrics which may be composed in at least a substantial part of polyester fiber, or may be composed of other fibers which have been treated to provide no-iron characteristics (linen being used in a generic sense rather than to identify the fiber composition). The process includes the sequential steps of laundering the linen, preferably in substantially conventional manner, and then folding the laundered linen in a dry state to provide a stack of multiple layers of the laundered textile fabric, all of the layers being of approximately equal area. The multiple layers of fabric are then finished by compressing the multiple layers in folded state in the presence of heat and moisture, causing steam to flow through the stack of multiple layers, first in one direction and then in the opposite direction. The flow of steam through the stack of layers is assisted by injecting the steam against the layer at one end of the stack and applying vacuum to the layer at the opposite end of the stack so that the vacuum assists the flow of steam through the entire stack. Following this operation, the steam and vacuum are reversed, causing the steam to flow in the other direction.

The device comprises two forms, shaped in the configuration of a halfmanikin, disposed on a carriage, which travels over two fixed and parallel slides. Each of the ends of the slides is mounted on a fixed framework which is provided with three heads, one of which is centrally located on a vertical axis and the other two heads being located on opposite sides of said vertical axis and having axes oblique with respect thereto. Each head comprises a plate driven by a pneumatic cylinder the lower surface of which is so shaped as to conform exactly to the outer surface of each of the two forms when the forms are disposed underneath such heads.

摘要： An ironing machine for ironing sleeves of jackets, overcoats and similar garments, in which two halves of a garment form are carried by an upright support structure, to opposite sides of the latter and symmetrically with respect thereto. A pair of extension members are connected to upper portions of said halves, respectively, each having a downwardly extending portion separated by a cutout from the respective half. A pad is arranged in each cutout movable toward and away from the downwardly extending portion and a plate located outwardly of each downwardly extending portion is movable toward and away therefrom. The halves of the garment form have upper convexly curved surfaces adapted to cooperate with concavely curved surfaces of presser members movable in substantially vertical direction toward and away from the respective half.

摘要： The invention provides a lower member or buck of a garment pressing machine which is so constructed that adequate space is provided for turning of a jacket or coat whose shoulders and parts about the armholes are being pressed, the buck being cantilevered on a curved or angularly shaped post which is constructed of heavy steel plate and is hollow, the post housing the stem supply and its return, as well as including a passage for cooling air leading from the perforated top plate of the buck to a connection to a vacuum pump. The upper member of the buck is constructed to provide a space for the entry of heating steam from within the post and also a connection between the space immediately below the perforated top plate and the air passage in the post, re-enforcements being provided to enable the top member to withstand the shock and pressure of the usual head of the pressing machine. In the preferred construction, the post is of approximately triangular cross section and tapered upwardly, a tubular steam and condensate return forming a vertex of the triangle.
