Abstract: A laundry appliance includes a basket rotatably mounted within a cabinet and defining a chamber configured for receiving a load of clothes and a camera assembly mounted within the cabinet in view of the chamber. A controller is configured to implement a leftover load detection method including determining that an operating cycle of the laundry appliance has been completed and that a user has removed the load of clothes. A camera then obtains one or more images of the chamber and the images are analyzed to determine whether any articles of clothing remain in the chamber. If the image analysis identifies a leftover article remaining in the chamber, the method includes implementing a responsive action, such as providing a user notification.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a drain pump driving apparatus and a laundry treatment machine including the same. A drain pump driving apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a controller configured to drive a motor, during drainage, based on an output current and a direct current (DC) terminal voltage with a first power when a lift is at a first level and to drive the motor with the first power when the lift is at a second level that is greater than the first level, wherein the lift is a difference between a water level of a water introduction part through which water flows into a drain pump and a water level of a water discharge part through which the water is discharged out of the drain pump. Accordingly, water pumping can be performed smoothly even if the lift is changed during the drainage.

Abstract: A capacitive proximity control device (28) for a domestic washing machine (10) or other domestic electrical appliance is proposed. In some embodiments, the proximity control device comprises two planar sensor electrodes (34, 36) arranged on a door (20) of the washing machine at a spatial distance from one another. An electronic assembly is connected to the two sensor electrodes, which electronic assembly is adapted to generate, in association with each of the two sensor electrodes, an electrical sensor signal which is representative of a change in a capacitance associated with the sensor electrode in question. By mutual correlation of the two sensor signals, the electronic assembly is able to determine a proximity operation of the control device. A shielding electrode can be arranged in the spatial region between the two sensor electrodes.

Abstract: A water ozonation system (18) that receives source water (16) from a water source (14) and converts it to ozonated water (20) for use in a washing machine (12) includes a system body (30), an ozone generator (38), a sensor assembly (21), and a controller (46). The system body (30) receives the source water (16) from the water source (14). The ozone generator (38) is configured to generate ozone. The ozone generator (38) is coupled the system body (30). The sensor assembly (21) is also coupled to the system body (30). The sensor assembly (21) is configured to sense at least one ambient environmental condition and generate at least one electronic data signal based on the sensed at least one ambient environmental condition. The controller (46) receives the at least one electronic data signal from the sensor assembly (21) and regulates a level of ozone that is generated by the ozone generator (38) based at least in part on the at least one electronic data signal.
