摘要： Described is a woven terry fabric article that includes a body having a first end and a second end opposite one another, and a first side edge and a second side edge opposite one another and generally perpendicular to the first and second opposite ends. The article further includes a first terry zone having a pile with a first pile height, a second terry zone having a pile with a second pile height, and a first faux dobby zone intermediate to the first and second terry zones. The first faux dobby zone has a pile with one or more pile heights that are visibly distinct from the pile heights of the first and second terry zones. In embodiments, the one or more pile heights in the faux dobby zone are less than the pile height of the adjacent zones, such as 50% less, 40% less, or 35% less.

摘要： Ground warp and pile warp thread sheets are supplied to a shed forming device. The ground warp and the pile warp are separately deflected over a deflecting rod upstream from the shed forming device. The deflecting rod supports the ground warp and directs the pile warp to cross and interpenetrate through the ground warp before deflecting the pile warp into the back shed. The deflecting rod is positively driven and controlled to pivot about a horizontal axis to provide a positive controlled partial compensation of the pile warp thread length variations. The pile warp also runs over a pile warp thread reserve and compensating device upstream from the thread crossing location to provide an additional passive uncontrolled compensation of the pile warp thread length variations and to provide a pile warp thread reserve during the pile loop formation and/or the shed changes in the weaving process.

摘要： A method for weaving blemish-free smooth and terry fabric on a loom following a stoppage of the loom after it has woven a fabric fell which terminates in a last weft thread. The loom has a driven reed which reciprocates during normal weaving towards and away from the fell over a predetermined beat-up distance to successively position additional weft threads at predetermined target positions which assure a uniform, blemish-free fabric. Following a loom stoppage, the next weft yarn, for smooth fabric, and a plurality of next weft yarns, for terry fabric, are moved towards the last weft yarn over a compensated beat-up distance which is different from the predetermined beat-up distance to thereby position the next weft yarn at the desired target position relative to the least weft yarn of the fell to avoid the formation of fabric blemishes. Thereafter the reed is again moved over the predetermined beat-up distance during subsequent picks of the loom.

摘要： An apparatus for tensioning warp threads of a loom comprises a warp beam from which the warp threads are withdrawn by means of a support beam and a deflection beam. The deflection beam is secured to the support beam by means of bending springs acting in the direction of the deflected warp threads. The bending or deflection length of the bending springs is adjustable for preselected setting of the warp thread tension in that the bending springs are supported at their bending or deflection side by means of a bending-resistant support plate which is adjustable in lengthwise direction. These measures provide for a purely mechanical, simple, easily adjustable and functionally reliable tensioning apparatus which is particularly suitable for the pile warp of a Terry weaving machine.
