Abstract:
A water-soluble complex dye capable of forming an image having light resistance, ozone resistance and high saturation; a water-based recording fluid, particularly an ink jet recording fluid, employing such a dye; and an ink jet recording method, are presented. A water-soluble complex dye comprising an azo compound represented by the following formula (1) or its tautomer, and transition metal ions; a water-based recording fluid, particularly an ink jet recording fluid, containing such a dye; and an ink jet recording method employing such a recording fluid. In the formula (1), A1 is a 5- to 7-membered hetero monocyclic group containing three or four hetero atoms among the ring forming atoms, or a condensed heterocyclic group containing such a hetero monocyclic group and may have an optional substituent, but it represents a group which does not have a hydroxyl group at a position adjacent to the carbon bonded to the azo group; ring X1 represents a condensed hetero ring containing a 6-membered hetero ring, said 6-membered hetero ring being a group bonded to the azo group, and may have an optional substituent; and each of R1 and R2 which are independent of each other, is a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent.
Abstract:
A class of magenta dye chromophores generally described as metal complexes with dye ligands of 4-hydroxy-3-(2'-pyridylazo)-1-(sulfo substituted) naphthalene for use in ink-jet inks is disclosed. The dye ligands are coordinated to a polyvalent metal. The dye-metal complexes of the present invention provide excellent ink-jet prints having excellent lightfastness when exposed to direct sun light as well as office light.
Abstract:
Metal complex polyazo dyes having, as a coupling component radical, the radical of a coupling component K, being the product of the condensation, under acidic conditions, of the formaldehyde with a compound or mixture of compounds of formula (a), ##STR1## AND/OR A COMPOUND OR MIXTURE OF COMPOUNDS OF FORMULA (B), ##STR2## WHEREIN EACH R.sub.1 , R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 is independently is hydrogen, halogen, hydroxy or optionally substituted alkyl or alkoxy, andM is hydrogen or a non-chromophoric cation,The mol ratio of formaldehyde to the other compound(s) (a) and/or (b) being at least 0.6:1 and at least 50 mol % of the other compound(s) (a) and/or (b) containing a --COOM group, and, as diazo or bisdiazo component radical, a radical D- or -D- where D contains at least one metallized azo group, their production and their use for the dyeing of anionic dyeable substrates, particularly leather. The dyes have good levelling capacity and the obtained dyeings possess notable fastness to light.
Abstract:
Dye mixtures which comprise at least one 1:2 chromium complex dye of the formula (1) ##STR1## together with at least one 1:2 chromium or 1:2 cobalt complex dye of two identical or two different azo compounds from the group consisting of compounds of the formulae (2), (3) and (4) or together with at least one 1:2 cobalt complex dye of the formazan compound of the formula (5) or together with at least one anthraquinone dye of the formula (6). The dyes of formulae (1) are defined herein.
Abstract:
Compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is hydrogen or nitro,Each of R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, independently, is --OH or --NH.sub.2,R.sub.4 is hydrogen, nitro or (C.sub.1-4) alkyl,R.sub.5 is hydrogen, nitro or (C.sub.1-4) alkoxy,R.sub.6 is hydrogen, (C.sub.1-4) alkyl, (C.sub.1-4) alkoxy, --COOM or --SO.sub.3 M,R.sub.7 is hydrogen or --SO.sub.3 M,R.sub.8 is hydrogen or the radical of a diazo component, andM is a hydrogen ion or a non-chromophoric cation,And mixtures thereof, in metallized form or unmetallized form, which compounds in metallized form are useful as dyes for paper and leather.
