    摘要: The invention relates to a process for preparing organic pigment granules with a particle size from 0.5 to 4 mm, which consist of at least 90% by weight of at least one organic pigment with a particle size from 0.01 to 10 nullm and from 0 to 10% by weight of a binder having from 2 to 7 mol of carboxyl groups per 1000 g and from 0 to 5% by weight of a neutral emulsifier which does not form ions and which dissolves to give a clear solution in water or a C1-C4alcohol at a concentration of at least 10 g/100 ml, the binder and the emulsifier together accounting for not more than 10% by weight and all percentages by weight being based on the overall amount of pigment granules, wherein null1null the pigment is mixed with 54-92% by weight of water, a C1-C4alcohol, a C3-C8ketone or a mixture thereof, based on the dry pigment, with the binder and 0.8-20 mol of ammonia or a C1-C3amine, per mole of carboxyl groups in the binder, and with the emulsifier; null2null this mixture is pressed in a continuously operating apparatus through one or more apertures each having a size of 0.2-5.0 mm2, the apparatus consisting of at least one conveying device and a shaping section comprising the apertures, and being constructed, and operated with a throughput, such that the pressure in its shaping section does not exceed 10 bar; null3null if desired, the cylindrical granules emerging from the dies are converted on a rotating device into ovoid or spherical granules, and null4null the granulated product is dried at a temperature of null50 to 200null C. at atmospheric pressure or under reduced pressure. The invention, finally, also relates to the pigmenting of high molecular mass organic material with that amount of pigment granules according to the invention which is effective for colouring.

The modified pigments are pigments having attached groups, such as polymeric groups, onto the pigment by means other than adsorption. A modified pigment product is described comprising a pigment having attached at least one group comprising the formula: nullXnullnullNIonnullpR wherein X comprises an aromatic group or an alkyl group, NIon comprises at least one type of non-ionic group, R represents hydrogen or comprises an aromatic group or an alkyl group, and p represents an integer of from 1 to 500. Modified pigment products are also described comprising a pigment having attached at least one alkylene oxide group or at least one polymeric group. In addition, other types of modified pigment products are described as well as their incorporation into inks, coatings, toners, films, plastics, polymers, elastomers, and the like. Methods of making the modified pigment products are also described.

    摘要: This invention relates to a process for preparing quinacridone pigment compositions by (a) heating a reaction mixture containing (i) 2,5-dianilinoterephthalic acid or 2,5-dianilino-6,13-dihydroterephthalic acid or a derivative thereof, (ii) about 0.1 to about 5 percent, based on component (a)(i), of 2,5-di(sulfamoylanilino)terephthalic acid and/or 2,5-di(sulfamoylanilino)-6,13-dihydroterephthalic acid or a derivative thereof, (iii) about 0.1 to about 15 percent by weight, based on component (a)(i), of other sulfonyl-containing derivatives of 2,5-dianilinoterephthalic acid and/or 2,5-dianilino-6, 13-dihydroterephthalic acid, (iv) about 3 to about 20 parts by weight, per part of component (a)(i), of a dehydrating agent, and (v) optionally, a solvent; (b) drowning the reaction mixture from step (a) with a liquid in which the quinacridone pigment composition is substantially insoluble; and (c) isolating the quinacridone pigment composition.
