摘要:
The present application provides a glass fiber nozzle structure, bushing and production device. The glass fiber nozzle structure includes a nozzle body and a hole provided on the nozzle body. The hole includes an upper hole portion and a lower hole portion communicated with the upper hole portion and located below the upper hole portion. The lower hole portion has an elongated cross-section. A projection of the lower hole portion is located within a projection of the upper hole portion in a projection on a plane perpendicular to an axis line of the lower hole portion. A length and a width of the lower hole portion have a ratio of 5:1 to 12:1. The glass fiber nozzle of the present application has a simple structure and a long service cycle, and an aspect ratio of flat glass fibers produced by the nozzle structure is maintained between 2.7 and 4.2, thereby effectively improving performance of the flat glass fibers.

A nozzle tip for producing glass fibers has a pair of long-side walls and a pair of short-side walls, each of the long-side walls and the short-side walls containing platinum or a platinum alloy, and a nozzle orifice for discharging the glass melt, the nozzle orifice being formed by the long-side walls and the short-side walls. The nozzle orifice has a flat hole shape in horizontal cross-section. Each of the long-side walls has a cut-out on a discharge side of the glass melt, a width of the cut-out being 10-55% of a length of a longitudinal center axis of the flat hole shape of the nozzle orifice. The pair of long-side walls has a symmetrical shape about the center axis of the nozzle orifice. This nozzle tip makes it possible to efficiently produce glass fibers having a desired cross-sectional shape.

An optical fiber draw furnace muffle includes a body portion defining a substantially cylindrical cavity extending along a centerline axis of the muffle. A tapered portion has an interior surface which defines a first curved portion with a first radius of curvature and a second curved portion with a second radius of curvature. At least one of the first and second radii of curvature has a radius greater than a radius of the cylindrical cavity.

A system and a method of manufacturing continuous glass filament fiberglass media comprises melting glass within a temperature controlled melter. Molten glass exits through a bushing plate with orifices of varying row configurations and orientations. The resulting fiberglass filaments are received on a rotating drum and sprayed with resin and aqueous solution. The resulting fiberglass mat is placed onto a let-off table then sprayed with aqueous solution before further processing.

A bushing system may include a bushing that is configured to receive a molten material. The bushing may include a plate defining a first plurality of apertures through which the molten material flows. The plate may include a longitudinal axis, as well as a first side wall and a second side wall disposed on a side of the plate opposite the first side wall. The first side wall and the second side wall may extend at an upward angle from the plate. The plate may also include a plurality of ribs extending along at least a portion of the plate. The bushing system may also include a tip plate coupleable with the bushing. The tip plate may be configured to receive the molten material from the bushing and may define a second plurality of apertures through which the molten material flows to form fibers.

The present invention concerns a bushing assembly including a tip plate supported by reinforcing ribs. The reinforcement ribs have a planar portion having a shape inscribed in a triangle of vertices α1, α2, α3, wherein α1 is the smallest angle of the three vertices, and the side of the triangle opposed to the smallest vertex, α1, matches exactly one side of the planar portion. It also concerns a bushing assembly including a tip plate reinforced with the reinforcing ribs discussed supra, wherein the reinforcing ribs are coupled to the bushing assembly by three sides, adjacent two by two.

An apparatus for adjusting the cooling members located beneath fiberizing bushings is disclosed having the capability of moving each cooling member, or one portion of each cooling member, in a generally vertical direction, and/or in a lateral and/or tilting direction. Also disclosed is a process of using the apparatus to make fibers from molten material including molten glass.

A furnace component having a tungsten-based substrate whose surface is protected by a rhenium-based layer in order to render the component less reactive to quartz, glass and other forms of silica. The layer preferably consists essentially of rhenium or rhenium with alloying additions of tungsten. The substrate may be formed of concentric layers of different tungsten-based alloys in order to tailor the physical and mechanical properties of the component. A preferred method of forming the rhenium layer is to wrap the substrate with a rhenium-based wire, and then heat the wire and substrate to sinter and bond the wire to the substrate. Alternatively, the substrate and rhenium layer can be formed by isostatic pressing. Both methods are performed so that the substrate and layer have densities of at least about 96% of their respective theoretical densities.

A fiber glass bushing is described which produces hollow glass fibers from a multiplicity of tips having air tubes centered inside of them. Modules for providing a common header for rows of tubes centered in rows of tips on the bushing bottom are shown along with means to maintain the tubes centered during the running of the bushing.
