Abstract: The apparatus for producing a desired quantity of ozone uses a flow of air in which a corona discharge utilizes high voltage to produce sparks. This apparatus includes a source of high voltage and the spark is produced when metal or conducting edge portions of the blades are moved in way of spaced conductors carried in a tubular confine. The blades are carried as an assembly which may be rotated by a flow of air. The flow of air and the turning of the assembly maintains the blades in a cooled condition so that unwanted burning of the edges of the blades does not occur. The corona discharged ozone may be used in swimming pools, or as an air purifier or dust eliminator. The ozone, when used in a closed building, will utilize a timer so an excess of ozone is not produced. The rotating of the bladed member is preferably by the flow of air, said volume of air flow regulates the speed of rotation.

Abstract: An ozone generator module of the electric discharge field type is provided having at least one cell comprising an assembly of three concentric tubular members, the inner and outer tubular members being electrodes separated by a tubular dielectric member spaced from one of the electrodes a distance sufficient to define a high density electric discharge zone between them, the cell or cells being disposed within a liquid container. Surprisingly good results are obtained by employing a combination of three method steps; - limiting variation in the cross sectional dimension of the field to within a very small range of tolerance; controlling the temperature of the electrodes; and limiting the density of the field by regulating the voltage across the field and the frequency employed.

Abstract: System for the electric supply of a variable capacitive load by means, for each of the phases of the load, of an independent inverter comprising controlled rectifiers such as thyristors, which is connected by its input terminals to a direct-current source, which may be a rectifier, and by its output terminals to the terminals of a matching network whose output terminals are connected to the load. The matching network is formed of a capacitor connected to the input terminals of the matching network, a transformer having a high magnetising current, a filtering circuit comprising two inductances of which one is connected in parallel with the same terminals as those of the capacitor and the other in series in the circuit connecting one terminal of the capacitor to the corresponding terminal of the primary winding of the transformer. The terminals of the secondary winding of the transformer are connected to the terminals of the load.

Abstract: A PLASMA, OR IONIZED GAS, GENERATING APPARATUS FOR REACTION OF THE PLASMA WITH NON-GASEOUS SUBSTANCES IN A CONTAINER, THE APPARATUS HAVING A SUPPORT STRUCTURE DEFINED BY SPACED APART SUPPORT PLATES WHICH ARE INTERCONNECTED BY A PLURALITY OF POSTS. A PAIR OF ELONGATE ELECTRODE PLATES FOR EACH CONTAINER IS MOUNTED ON THE SUPPORT STRUCTURE SO THAT AT LEAST ONE OF THE PLATES CAN BE MOVED TOWARD AND INTO ENGAGEMENT WITH THE CONTAINER FOR GRASPING THE CONTAINER AND MOUNTING IT ON THE APPARATUS. THE ELECTRODE PLATES HAVE A CONCAVE CONFIGURATION TO GRASP THE CONTAINER AND INCLUDE A LAYER OF AN ELECTRICALLY INSULATING MATERIAL ON THE CONCAVE SIDE TO PREVENT SHORT CIRCUITS BETWEEN THE ELECTRODE PLATES AND THE CONTAINER AND TO FACILITATE THE SLIDEABLE INSERTION AND REMOVAL OF THE CONTAINER FROM BETWEEN THE PLATES. A SUPPLY MANIFOLD IS CARRIED BY THE SUPPORT STRUCTURE AND INCLUDES A PLURALITY OF SUPPLY CONDUITS FOR CONNECTION WITH THE CONTAINERS AND THE TRANSMISSION OF GAS INTO THE CONTAINERS. AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD IS SIMILARLY CARRIED BY THE SUPPORT STRUCTURE AND CONNECTED WITH THE CONTAINER FOR REMOVAL OF THE GAS AND THE PLASMA FROM THE CONTAINER.
