    摘要: The disclosure relates to a work tool for a machine and, more particularly, to such a work tool having an actuatable tool portion. According to one exemplary aspect of the disclosure there is provided a work tool for attachment to a machine, comprising a supporting tool portion. The actuatable tool portion is pivotally connected to the supporting tool portion via a hinge construction. The hinge construction includes a hinge drive having an outgoing, rotatable shaft. The rotatable shaft has a single outgoing end that is configured to carry the actuatable tool portion. By providing the work tool with a hinge construction that includes a hinge drive with an rotatable shaft that carries the actuatable tool portion on a single outgoing end a directly driven hinge construction is obtained that is both compact and reliable. The disclosure also relates to a hinge drive and to a method of operating a work tool for a machine.

    摘要: The specification discloses an apparatus for removing slag from a bath of molten metal. It has a casing provided with a gripping device at one end to allow it to be connected to the hook of a travelling crane. Two cooperating metal slag removing scoops are pivotally mounted at the other end of the casing and a mechanism is connected to the scoops to cause their pivoting action when it is moved axially of the casing. The mechanism is actuated by a pneumatic jack housed in the casing and having connections to a source of pneumatic fluid. The scoop operating mechanism is connected to the operating rod of the pneumatic jack so that actuation of the operating rod causes pivoting of the scoops for slag removal. Preferably, the apparatus includes a rigid structure at the other end of the casing, the scoops being pivotally mounted on the said structure. The latter is preferably further provided with a shield intended to protect the casing and the jack from the heat of the bath of molten metal. Also, the bottom of the casing is filled with heat insulating material.

    摘要: A multi-shell grab bucket apparatus comprises a distributor head having a plurality of engine cylinder chambers rigidly fixed with respect to the distributor head and being disposed in a common horizontal plane and extending radially outwardly from and angularly spaced about the distributory head center axis. Engine pistons are mounted for sliding reciprocatory movement within respective ones of the engine cylinder chamber and define therewith double-acting reciprocating engines. A set of fluid supply passages located internally of the distributor head are connectable to an external source of fluid pressure medium for supplying the medium to opposite ends of the engine cylinder chambers to effect reciprocation of the engine pistons to thereby actuate scoops connected to respective ones of the engine pistons.
