摘要: A method and robot-based automation system are provided for cryogenic crystal sample mounting, for example, for use for cryogenic crystal sample mounting in the x-ray crystallography station at an x-ray source. The system includes a robot arm carrying a handset. The handset includes a pair of elongated fingers for sample mounting, and each finger carrying a set of strain gauge arrays for providing force sensing. A slim finger design allows a sample mounting process with no interference with the beam stop, cryostreem and x-ray detectors. The handset can detect the contact force intensity and direction; provide a precise gripping action; and feel the results of the gripping. The finger design incorporates a mechanism to maintain the sample temperature well below the cryogenic safety margin for the crystal viability. A Dewar container is provided with an ice control system and liquid nitrogen flow control. A triangular sample magazine maximizes the Dewar space usage. A miniature kinematical mounting sample holder provides near micron positioning repeatability. These capabilities make the robot-arm more powerful, flexible, and reliable.

摘要: An integrated lifting apparatus for attaching a sling or other lifting means to a load having an upright and substantially hollow post. A bore is provided near the upper extent of such hollow post, extending horizontally through the hollow post. A threaded bolt having an enlarged head on one end, preferably constructed of high strength and/or shear resistant material, is disposed through the bore. A lock nut having an outer diameter greater than the diameter of said bore is threaded onto the end of the bolt. If desired, a cotter pin can also be used to secure such lock nut on the bolt.

摘要: An apparatus for installation in a pickup truck box and which includes a tow beam positionably carried in a support housing positioned by a hydraulic cylinder to raise or lower the tow beam during coupling of the beam end to a truck tractor fifth wheel. 摘要: A hitch for a tow truck of the type having towing apparatus including a cross beam connected to the distal end of a telescopic boom mounted on the rear of the tow truck chassis. The hitch has a base plate having depending side plates which straddle the telescopic boom and aligned cut-out portions in the side plates providing a saddle for receiving the cross beam. A tow bar connector, such as a tubular socket, having a handle secured to the top surface of the base plate. The hitch is manually positioned on the telescopic boom and cross beam and clamped between the cross beam and rear chassis of the tow truck when the telescopic boom is moved to the retracted position.

An electric actuator is used for driving the double arm manipulators and the slide device, and hydraulic manipulators for driving the lifting arms. Accordingly, a robot vehicle for hot-line job is provided to mount thereon a third arm which enables highly accurate positioning of the manipulators, remote control by an operator and automatic operation through a teaching-playback, has a function of lifting a heavy article, and is small-sized and lightweight.

摘要: The invention provides a bale handling apparatus capable of being used to lift and transport two similar bales in a substantially side-by-side manner. The apparatus includes at least two vertically and horizontally offset main spears. Each main spear is grouped with at least one vertically and/or horizontally offset stabilizer spear. By virtue of the offset design of the main spears, the apparatus can be used to lift two bales sequentially by lifting a first bale and then lifting a second bale without unloading the first bale from the apparatus. The two bales can then be transported simultaneously to another location.

摘要: A robot assembly and a method of installing a collar on a robot assembly. The robot assembly comprises a support shaft, an arm extending away from the shaft, a split connecting collar pivotally mounted on the support shaft and connected to the arm to connect the arm to the support shaft, and a tool connected to the arm for engaging the molded items and for removing the molded items from the molding machine. Two embodiments of the split collar are disclosed. The first is a multiple piece component, and the second is a single slotted body. Generally, both of these collars are designed such that installation or removal does not require that the shaft be pushed linearly through the diameter of the collar. Rather, the installation or removal of the collar is performed by moving the collar, or the collar components, away from the shaft, in a direction perpendicular to the shaft centerline instead of along and over the shaft diameter to the endpoint.

摘要: A disabled truck recovery unit is detachably mountable on the back of a standard truck tractor to permit the standard truck tractor to be operable to tow a disabled truck tractor over the highway in a safe and effective manner. The disabled truck recovery unit includes an anchoring frame assembly connected to the standard truck tractor and an attaching frame assembly that can be connected to a disabled truck tractor to permit the towing thereof. The two frame assemblies are pivotally connected and powered by a single hydraulic actuator to convert the frame mechanism from a compact transport configuration to an operative position to engage the disabled truck tractor. A scissors linkage mechanism interconnects the hydraulic cylinder and the frame assemblies to effect proper movement thereof. An engine is mounted on the anchoring frame assembly to provide an independent source of operative power for the hydraulic cylinder.
