    摘要: A hydrofoil propulsion system (10) utilizing dual water propellers (16) in combination with dual shrouded air propellers (18). The air propellers (18) and the water propellers (16) are powered by diesel engines (22) mounted in pairs inside the hull (24) of the hydrofoil craft (b 14). Each water propeller (16) is affixed to an outdrive 35 through a pivotal propeller shaft (28) that permits the propeller shaft (28) and the water propeller (16) to move horizontally and vertically with respect to the hull (24). An air propeller (18) and a water propeller (16) are each coupled to a single pair of engines (22) so that as the craft (14) transitions from the hullborne mode to the foilborne mode, the thrust load is automatically transferred from the water propeller (16) to the air propeller (18).

    摘要: A linking drive system comprises a first drive shaft of the first drivetrain connected between a first prime mover and a first propulsor. The linking drive system comprises a second drive shaft of the second drivetrain connected between a second prime mover and a second propulsor. The linking drive system further comprises a linking drive clutch, which comprises at least a first clutch part and a second clutch part. The first clutch part and the second clutch part are engageable with each other and can transmit rotation therebetween. At least one flexible drive link is coupled between the linking drive clutch and the first and/or second drive shafts. Rotation from one of the first and second drive shafts is transferred to the other of the first and second drive shafts when the linking drive clutch is engaged thereby linking the first and second drivetrains.

    摘要: A ship propulsion device (1) is adapted to rotate a propeller (20) to propel a ship (2). In a case where the rotating speed of the propeller (20) is less than a predetermined rotating speed, a low-output sub-motor (M2) is controlled and rotationally driven by a small-capacity general-purpose inverter (24), and the rotational driving is transmitted to the propeller (20) so as to rotate the propeller. In that case, in a drive system of a main motor (M1), rotation is not transmitted to a slip clutch (23) or an input shaft (7) by cutting off an on-off clutch (8). In a case where the rotating speed of the propeller (20) becomes equal to or more than the predetermined rotating speed, a driving source is switched from the sub-motor (M2) to the main motor (M1) so as to couple the on-off clutch (8), and the rotating speed of the main motor (M1) is controlled by the slip clutch (23) and transmitted to the propeller (20) so as to rotate the propeller (20).

    摘要: A modular drive apparatus includes a gear box (16) with a rotatable internal transmission gear (60). The gear box includes a plurality of body openings (44). The openings may be selectively closed by the installation of cover plates (52, 54). With a cover plate removed, a drive coupler (32, 34, 58, 148) may be extended in the respective opening and mounted in operative connection with the gear box. In the mounted position of the drive coupler, an idler gear (72, 172) engages the ring gear of the gear box. Rotatable power devices such as pumps, motors and generators may be operatively rotatably engaged with the drive coupler.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a propulsion arrangement for a marine vessel, which propulsion arrangement comprises an internal combustion engine, a shaft arrangement and a steerable thruster unit. The marine vessel further comprises an electric generator or a combined electric generator and motor in connection with the propulsion arrangement. In order to reduce space requirements and required equipment as well as to raise efficiency, the shaft arrangement comprises a main shaft extending from the internal combustion engine to a first angle gear and a drive shaft extending from the first angle gear to a second angle gear in the steerable thruster unit. The electric generator or the combined electric generator and motor is connected to the drive shaft of the shaft arrangement after the main shaft and the first angle gear are connected thereto.

    摘要: A marine propulsion system for a cruising boat or the like which utilizes two engines, one of the engines having substantially more power than the other. The propulsion system provides for twin propellers and propeller shafts and either engine (but not both) can be made to drive the twin shafts. The engines are positioned in line with one another on the fore and aft center line of the boat and the drive shafts of the two engines extend into a common transmission assembly. Clutches in the transmission assembly permit either one of the engine drive shafts to be drivingly connected to an athwartships shaft the ends of which are respectively connected through transmission gear case units to the propeller shafts. The propeller shafts are laterally spaced from one another and are parallel to the center line of the boat. With this arrangement, the more powerful engine can be used for high speed cruising or when severe weather conditions dictate and the less powerful engine can be used for slow speeds and economical long distance cruising.
