Abstract: A tailgate lifting apparatus is provided that includes: a first cog, a second cog, and a housing fixedly attached to a dump body. Preferably, the first cog is fixedly attached to a lower hinge pin of the tailgate, the second cog is rotatably coupled to the housing, and the second cog meshes with the first cog. The housing includes a ratcheting mechanism that selectively engages the second cog, the device therewith operable therewith to maintain the tailgate in a plurality of positions between a fully opened and fully closed positions.

Abstract: A towable cart. At least one axle is coupled to a frame. A bottom of a container is also attached to the frame. Each of a pair of wheels are rotatably attached to the axle. A tow bar has first and second ends, the first end of the tow bar being pivotably coupled to one of the frame and the axle. An arm has first and second opposing ends, the first end of the arm being attached to the container and the second end of the arm being selectably secured to the tow bar. The container is fixed in a loading condition when the arm is secured to the tow bar, the container and the frame further being pivotable to an unloading condition when the arm is not secured to the tow bar.

Abstract: A towable dump trailer is provided. The towable dump trailer comprises a first, second and third frame. The first frame comprises one or more sets of wheels. The second frame is attached to the tow vehicle and can be displaced horizontally relative to the first frame by the towing vehicle moving rearward or forward. The third frame provides a support frame for the trailer bed. The dump trailer is operated by immobilizing the first frame and causing the second frame to move horizontally relative to the first frame. This horizontal displacement causes the third frame to pivot as a result of one or more pivoting arms translating the horizontal movement to pivotal movement. The dump trailer can be configured to provide a dumping action by either forward or rearward horizontal displacement of the second frame relative to the first frame.

Abstract: A top-dumping container handling vehicle for receiving, carrying and dumping at least one container having at least one locking slot is provided. The container handler has a frame which has an attached support structure. At least one container cradle for receiving and holding the container is supported by the support structure for movement between a centered position and at least one dump position. The container cradle includes at least one hooking or locking assembly that is movable between a hooked or locked position, wherein the locking assembly does not interfere with the loading of the container into the container cradle, and an unhooked or unlocked position, wherein the locking assembly engages the corresponding locking slot on the container, thereby preventing movement or shifting of the container relative to the container cradle. The container handling vehicle also has a dumping assembly which moves the container cradle between the centered and the dump position.

Abstract: This invention relates to a towable trailer having a tipping tray. The tipping tray incorporates an axle and wheels, and is mounted to the trailer's chassis via a pivot. The chassis incorporates a guide slot which accommodates the tray's pivot. A cam arrangement is provided to control the rate and angle at which the tray is tipped. To tip the tray, the trailer is reversed, and the towing vehicle suddenly braked. The tray continues to move in the reverse direction by virtue of its inertia. The pivot of the tray slides rearward within the guide slot, while the cam on the tray bears against a follower on the chassis to tip the tray.
