    摘要: In a tape printer which prints text data including characters/symbols on a tape, there is a fixed distance between a position where a thermal head is provided and a position where a cutter cuts a printed tape portion. For first text data to be printed, a margin is set and then the data is printed on the tape. Thereafter, the next text data is input with a margin being set and printed on the tape. When the printing of the first text data ends, the operation of the printer stops. When the printing is continued after the next data is input with a margin being set, the tape is conveyed by a length equal to the sum of the margins and set for the respective first and second text data and the input next data is printed. When the boundary between the margins arrives at the position of the cutter during the printing of the next text data, the printing of the next text data is interrupted and a tape portion on which the previous text data has been printed is cut by the cutter from the remaining tape. Thereafter, the printing of the next text data restarts.

    摘要: A label printer includes a thermal print head assembly for printing pressure sensitive adhesive-backed labels spaced longitudinally on a web. The print head assembly includes a row of heater elements aligned transversely of the web path and movable toward and away from the web, the heater elements being biased against the web. Mechanical displacement of the print head assembly due to the passage of the leading and trailing edges of the labels beneath the heater elements is sensed by a piezoelectric sensor carried by the print head assembly to locate the printing on the labels with respect to the edges. The sensor may be mounted directly on a pivoting print head or may be mounted on a pivoting support or bracket which carries the print head. The print head assembly may be of the thermal printing or thermal transfer printing type. Both individual and stacked piezoelectric ceramic transducer elements are disclosed.

    摘要: When a desired plurality of document data are selected from a recorded plurality of document data and read into a text memory, the selected plurality of document data are combined into a document data string, and cut instruction data is added between any two adjacent document data. Printing lengths of a tape are calculated for the respective document data sectioned by the cut instruction data, so that positions where the tape is cut are calculated and then stored in a cut position memory. In connection with printing of the document string developed into a print data memory from the text memory, a cut instruction signal is output and the tape is cut each time the number of motor driving steps for tape carriage matches a respective one of the cut positions.

    摘要: In a printer of the kind which uses a continuous form print sheet having a plural pages each defined by perforated score lines formed in the widthwise direction of the sheet, a sheet feed control device is provided for controlling a sheet feed means for feeding the sheet. The control device includes a central processing unit which upon measuring a first line distance on the sheet, controls a sheet feeding means so that the perforated score line in the bottom of a printed page is brought in coincidence with a sheet cutting position. The print sheet can thus be separated at the line of perforations even if the first line distance is differently than that of the previous sheet.

    摘要: A method controls the printing of documents created by interactive text processing systems so that the document image is positioned on the paper in the same location when the document is printed by two different printers with different paper positioning parameters. The method assists the operator in defining to the system the paper positioning parameters of each printer attached to the system so that the location of the first print position of the printer is established relative to the top and left edges of the paper. The text processing program also establishes the location of the first print (typing) position of the document image on the display relative to the top and left edges of the document image. Printer control codes are developed and sent to the printer which align the edges of the document image with the corresponding edges of the paper at its initial printing position by taking into account the relative locations of the first print positions of the printer and document image.
