A center plate (44) for the rods (24, 25, 40) maintains them at a midpoint (36) for device (20). Sliding assemblies (60, 94) lock and unlock barrel nuts (71, etc.) in the jaws (22, 23) from threaded rods (24, 25). Different senses of threads for threaded rods (24, 25) extend to each side of rod (40). In another embodiment, a push handle (116) directly actuates the ‘quarter-turn’ threads in bores (122) of barrel nuts (115) into and out of engagement with threaded rods (121).

    摘要: An electrically powered clamp has a housing, a motor attached to the housing, a ball screw driven by the motor via a belt, and a linkage driven at one end by the ball screw such that the linkage rotates an output shaft attached to the other end of the linkage. The motor and belt drive the ball screw between a fully extended position to rotate the shaft to a clamped position, and a fully retracted position to rotate the shaft to an unclamped position. A built-in computer monitors and controls the clamp. The clamp can also be controlled and monitored by a remote pendant. Indicator lights on the housing and remote pendant convey clamp status information. The clamp is programmable and can memorize the clamped and unclamped positions. The clamp uses velocity and position feedback to determine appropriate drive mode. Torque monitors and timers determine if the clamp becomes stuck.

    摘要: A spring or springs are provided between driving-side members that operate together with an output shaft of a stepping motor, and driven-side members that operate together with a jaw member. Thereby, when the jaw members performs opening motion, the driving-side members and the driven-side member directly engage with each other, thereby allowing a driving force to be transmitted directly from the output shaft to the jaw members. When the jaw members performs workpiece-holding operation, the driving-side members and the driven-side member engage each other via the spring or springs, thereby allowing the driving force to be elastically transmitted from the output shaft to the jaw members via the spring or the springs. In this configuration, when the workpiece-holding operation is performed by the jaw members, the stepping motor is controlled so as to over-rotate in a buffered manner.

The clamped element is preferably a super elastic alloy which is naturally oriented in a clamped position for a positive clamp and in an unclamped position for a non-positive clamp.
