A drive mechanism can translate rotational motion of the motor into reciprocating motion of the blade retaining mechanism. A clamp assembly can include first and second shoes that are coupled to the housing. The first shoe can have a first shoe body that includes a first material facing surface. The second shoe can include a second material facing surface that opposes the first material facing surface and that defines a clamping distance therebetween. At least one of the first and second shoes is selectively adjustable relative to the housing, such that the clamping distance can be altered. One of the first or second shoe bodies can have a third material facing surface that comprises an arcuate section defining a radius.

    摘要: The pipe cutter attachment has a way mounted on a portable power saw with a reciprocating saw blade. The way is mounted on the power saw by an attaching assembly that accommodates the power saw that is used. A pipe holder block is slidably supported by the way. A pipe receiving slot with an open end is formed in the pipe holder block. The saw blade is in a saw blade slot in the pipe holder block. During cutting of a pipe the saw blade moves into the pipe receiving slot, engages a pipe to be cut and moves toward the open end of the pipe receiving slot. A resilient member urges the pipe holder block toward a position in which the saw blade is in the pipe holder block and ready to engage and cut a pipe seated in the pipe receiving slot.

    摘要: A method for cutting at least one elongated workpiece (13b) with a saw head assembly (10b) having a cutting blade (11b). The saw assembly (10b) further includes a guide mechanism for providing relative guided movement between the cutting blade (11b) and the workpiece (13b) along a cutting line (14b). The method comprises the steps of placing the workpiece (13b) across the cutting line (14b). Further, moving at least one of the cutting blade (11b) and the workpiece (13b) along the cutting line (14b) from a starting position (28b) on one side (27b') of said workpiece (13b) to a parked position (37b) on an opposite side (27b) of the workpiece (13b). In the parked position, the entire cutting stretch is positioned beyond the workpiece (13b). Next, the cut part or portion (32b) is displaced away from the cutting line (14b) using the workpiece (13b), while the cutting blade (11b) is in the parked position (37b). Thereafter, the workpiece (13b) is returned to the opposite side of the cutting line (14b), and the cutting blade (11b) is returned from the parked position (37b) to the starting position (28b). Accordingly, the cut parts (32b) and the workpiece (13b) are repositioned away from the cutting kerf (15b), which prevents their contact with the cutting blade (11b) during return of the cutting blade (11b) to the starting position (28b).

The adapter has a pair of parallel rectangular blocks arranged to slide from a closed position to an open position. A threaded object is placed in a channel of matching diameter and thread pitch, the blocks closed, and clamped for performing operations on the object.

    摘要: In a power actuated hacksaw, a blade guide having a bearing block and roller assembly is disposed within a raceway in order to align the hacksaw blade. The blade guide is mounted on a vise which securely holds a workpiece in place while it is being cut. The hacksaw blade is held by a frame which reciprocates in response to the rotation of a wheel. The wheel may be rotated by either a motor or an electric drill.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for periodically feeding a rod-like workpiece into a severing machine for severing predetermined lengths in a cutting plane during cutting steps alternating with feeding steps. There are provided openable and closable clamping jaws for grasping the workpiece adjacent the cutting plane during each cutting step and openable and closable feed jaws for grasping the workpiece at a predetermined distance upstream of the cutting plane as viewed in the direction of feed and advancing the workpiece through the cutting plane by a distance corresponding to the desired length to be cut. The feed jaws are, subsequent to the feeding step and the closing of the clamping jaws, but prior to the completion of the cutting step, opened and moved away from the cutting plane by an extent that corresponds to the subsequent feed stroke and are thereafter closed again to grasp the workpiece anew.
