摘要: The invention for working extruded profile sections with respect to the outer contours thereof by way of hot shaping and/or hot stamping and/or cutting operations and/or punching operations comprises the following method steps: —inserting the profile sections (1) heated to a temperature in the range of 250 to 450° C. into a two-part shaping tool (2) preheated to a temperature of 300 to 600° C.; and —applying pressure to the shaping tool (2) by way of one or more pressing cylinders (3) of a press (4). The device for carrying out the method comprises a press (4) and a shaping tool, wherein the shaping tool (2) is formed of two tool halves I, II, which are displaceable with respect to each other, and between which the profile section (1) is inserted.

摘要: A method and tool for calibrating an extruded tube for use in a manufacturing operation. According to the method, the tube is stretched while in a clamping tool by approximately 3%. The tool encloses the tube while a stretching mechanism is clamped to opposite longitudinal ends of the tube and applies a stretching force to opposite ends of the tube. The tool includes a clamping mechanism that clamps the tube into a cavity and a stretching mechanism with clamps that are attached to opposite longitudinal ends of the tube to calibrate the tube by longitudinally stretching the tube.

摘要: An extrusion handling apparatus which grips the end of extruded products and stretches them as they are extruded from a die of an extrusion machine. The apparatus includes a clamping means for gripping the extruded products, the clamping means being mounted on rails to move linearly away from the extrusion die. Supports for the extruded products are mounted independently of the clamping means and synchronized to move with the clamping means beneath the extruded products and are vertically adjustable with respect to the clamping means to adjust the supports for different size extrusions. The clamping means have opposite jaws which close on the center line of the extruded products. The jaws are moved by a pneumatic, or other, fluid pressure system which is carried by a cart which supports the clamping means. The pneumatic pressure system is recharged by docking with a pressure source at one end of the travel of the clamping jaw cart. A shear press is mounted on a track for movement independent of the clamping means and has power means operably connected thereto for movement of the shear press away from the clamping means after cutting of the extrusion to permit gripping of the cut end of the extrusion without interference from the shear press.

摘要: Metal sheets (13) are produced from strand-shaped profiles (8) having a low thickness, made of magnesium or magnesium alloys by way of an extrusion system (1). The open or closed extruded profile (8) exiting the extrusion die (6-7) of an extrusion press (1) is shaped to obtain a flat metal sheet (13) and is then subjected to a defined shaping process by way of stretch-forming. The system for carrying out the method is essentially composed of an extrusion press (1) comprising a die plate generating the extruded profile and a shaping unit (5) following the die plate, wherein the shaping unit (5) is composed of a severing unit (2), a bending unit (3), and an unrolling unit (4).

摘要: A method for stretch shaping an elongated metallic extrusion is disclosed comprising the steps of applying axial tension to an elongated metallic extrusion in an amount sufficient to equal or exceed the yield strength of the extrusion. An external shaping die is applied against a perimetric portion of the outside surface of the extrusion. The die has working faces conforming substantially to a finished cross-sectional shape for the extrusion. While maintaining such tension the die is advanced along a length of the extrusion. An apparatus for stretch shaping an elongated metallic extrusion is also disclosed.

摘要: An apparatus for stretching an extruded length of metal comprises a plurality of sets of tailstock jaws mounted at fixed positions in line with and spaced from each other, and a set of headstock jaws mounted in line with the sets of tailstock jaws and movable towards and away from the sets of tailstock jaws by a motor. The sets of tailstock jaws are individually controlled by respective sensors which when energized emit a signal in response to the presence of the trailing end of an extruded length of metal travelling past the sets of tailstock jaws, and the sensor signal actuates closure of the associated tailstock jaws on the trailing end of the extruded length.

摘要: The invention relates to a device for the stepwise transverse transportation of sections, in particular groups of sections, from a longitudinal conveyor at the delivery end of a metal extrusion press to a first (8) and optionally a further (9) cooling station as far as a stretcher-leveller, in which each group of sections is gripped between clamps (I, II) at the ends of the sections during the said transverse transportation, in addition the clamps (I, II) accompanying a group of sections over one step with the clamps accompanying the next step and finally the clamps (12) of the stretcher-leveller arranged at the outside position �are! arranged alternately offset in the longitudinal direction of the sections at the distance of the depth of a clamping jaw, and the clamps (I, II) for one step remain closed until the clamps for a following step or the clamps (12) of the stretcher-leveller are closed, and in which the clamps which are open laterally in the transverse conveying direction are supported by vertical columns (18) vertically displaceable in guides (20) and the guides (20) in turn are guided horizontally by transverse rails (23, 24) and are arranged so as to be movable in the transverse conveying direction, and the transverse rails (24) displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the sections for compensating the lengths of the sections are supported by movable carriages guided by horizontal longitudinal rails. According to the invention the transverse rails guiding the clamps are constructed as bridges (23, 24) with trolleys (20) as clamp guides, the bridges spanning the transverse transportation along its length and being supported at their ends by longitudinal supports which are mounted on stands and arranged parallel to the delivery end of the press and of which at least the bridges (24) displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the sections are movable with bridge carriages on the longitudinal supports.

摘要: A method of and apparatus for the manufacture of metal extrusions is disclosed in which the metal is extruded through a die having, preferably, a single extrusion aperture. The leading end of the extruded section is gripped and pulled away from the die by a puller 11, and the section is at the same time rapidly and uniformly cooled in a tunnel 8 as extrusion proceeds. When the puller reaches a predetermined distance from the die, the puller and extrusion are stopped simultaneously. The extruded section is then gripped in a device 12 including a pair of gripping jaws adjacent the die and shearing means by which the section is cut through at a location between this pair of jaws and the die. The puller is then operated to move it to stretch the extruded section while the section remains gripped by the gripping jaws of device 12 and in alignment with the die.
