Abstract: The invention relates to an amusement device for fairs, amusement parks or the like, having a substantially circular planar base (1) on which a star-shaped drive unit (3, 31) is arranged, which is rotatably mounted on a support bearing (5, 28) of the base (1), and at least one passenger gondola is arranged on each arm of the drive unit (3, 31). According to the invention, one or more of the passenger gondolas arranged on the arms (8, 32) are displaceable in the radial direction of the drive unit (3, 31) by means of pushing devices (15, 24) arranged to be displaceable each in the longitudinal direction of the arms (8, 32), the respective passenger gondolas being coupled to the respective pushing devices (15, 24), and the pushing devices (15, 24) follow a predetermined guide track (7, 14) when the drive unit (3, 31) rotates on the base (1), so that the passenger gondolas follow a circulation path on the base (1) which corresponds to the course of the guide track (7, 14).

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein include an amusement park ride. The amusement park ride include a ride vehicle that can transition from a first configuration to a second configuration during the duration of the ride. The amusement park ride can include a loading area for loading passengers into the ride vehicle and a separate unloading area for disembarking passengers from the ride vehicle. After disembarking passengers from the ride vehicle the ride vehicle travels to a transition area concealed from the public where the ride transitions from the second configuration to the first configuration. In the transition area, maintenance can be performed on the ride vehicle and calibration can be performed on one or more of the ride vehicle systems (e.g., projector or audio systems).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a ride system that can include static and/or interactive elements and is arranged for high passenger throughput with additional dimensions. To this end, an amusement ride is provided for amusement of groups of visitors of an amusement park or the like, the amusement ride including a platform, divided into multiple segments. The segments of the platform include electronic input devices for electronic interaction of the group with the interactive objects by control of the input devices, and the segments being polygon segments of the platform, and wherein at least one of the platform and the interactive objects are arranged for relative rotation with respect to each other around a center of the platform for relative movement between the segments with the groups and the interactive objects.

Abstract: A convertible backyard carnival for allowing an amusement device providing rotational and/or reciprocal movement to be configured into one of a plurality of seating arrangements. The convertible backyard carnival comprises a base member having a weighted base platform and a swivel post adapted to fit any one of a plurality of distinct seating structures. Inside the swivel post is a movement member which is adapted to engage a receiving member in each distinct seating structure. The movement member provides the movement aspect of the convertible backyard carnival, and can move a seating structure to which it is connected through the receiving element in a rotational and/or reciprocating manner. Abstract: An improved amusement ride and ride vehicle that permit a passenger to control the rotation of a passenger car as the vehicle travels along a ride course. The ride vehicle includes a support tube upon which the passenger car is rotatably mounted and a passenger operable steering mechanism. The ride vehicle also includes a spin shaft that extends down through the support tube. The spin shaft permits the use of safety systems that are mounted to the chassis of the ride vehicle. Control logic may be used to turn the passenger cars to a preferred orientation at the end of the ride. The ride vehicle itself may be barbell shaped to permit it to turn sharp corners along the ride course. The passenger car also includes a readily adjustable lap bar that is self-releasing. A slot cover, a plow assembly for displacing the slot cover and a slot cover switch are also provided.
