摘要： A catheter anchoring system is provided to securely anchor to a patient's skin a catheter and fluid supply tube interconnection. The anchoring system comprises a retainer configured to receive a catheter adaptor in a variety of positions. The adaptor interconnects the catheter and the fluid supply tube. In one embodiment the adaptor takes the form of a conical-shaped fitting permanently attached to the collar and includes a recess which extends around the circumference of the adaptor. The anchoring system additionally includes a flexible, adhesive anchor pad which supports a tube clip, as well as the retainer. The retainer includes a channel that is configured to receive the adaptor in a snap-fit manner. The retainer also includes a plurality of projections. Each projection is sized to be received by a recess of the adaptor to prevent the adaptor from sliding within the channel.

摘要： A blood collector system utilizes a standard disposable needle assembly and standard blood collecting and receiving tubes of the type sealed by a pierceable septum. The system has a hollow cylinder, including an internally apertured sleeve into which the needle assembly is mounted and into which the sealed blood collecting tubes are inserted to be pierced by a needle of the needle assembly. A protective sheath with two clips is concentrically mounted to the barrel cylinder with slot on both sides of the barrel so that the hollow cylinder can move down to cover the patent contacted needle. On both side of the barrel, there are one upper slot and one lower slot, a slot channel between the upper slot and lower slot. The clip is shaped so that it can be snap in the upper and lower slot and can be only slide down from the upper slot to lower slot, but not backwards. After the needle is taken out from a patient, the clip will be pushed down out of the upper slot, then slide down through the slot channel, then be pushed down to snap in the low slot of the barrel in order to cover the used needle from a patient. The apparatus of the invention eliminates the health care worker's exposure to accidental needle pricks.

摘要： A hypodermic injection device comprised of a barrel with an open end, an annular barrel grip at the open end, a luer sleeve at the distal end, a septum in the luer sleeve, and a guide-way in alignment with the central axis of the barrel extending through a guide-way in the luer sleeve. The injection device also comprises a piston in alignment with the central axis engaged for sliding movement within the barrel. The piston has a lock attached to the piston for depression of the lock into a depression space so the piston may be extended into the barrel and for return of the lock to a raised position upon release of depression pressure to allow the piston to be again locked from axial extension into the barrel. The piston also has a faceplate on its distal end with a hook at its periphery for hooking a support plate when the piston is turned within the barrel. The faceplate has a convex location boss on its distal face for mating engagement with a concave location boss on a proximal face of the support plate and for disengagement with the concave location boss when the piston is turned within the barrel to hook the support plate. The support plate supports the proximal end of the needle and has an undercut for engagement with the hook when the piston is turned within the barrel. The distal end of the needle is supported a guide-way, the needle having a length such that when the piston is retracted out of the barrel beyond a locked position, the distal end of the needle retracts from the guide-way and is contained within the reservoir.

摘要： An automatically shieldable blood collection set is provided. The blood collection set includes a needle assembly having a hub to which a needle cannula is fixedly attached. A safety shield is telescoped relative to the hub and the needle cannula and can be moved from a proximal position where the needle cannula is exposed to a distal position where the needle cannula is safely shielded. A spring is provided between the shield and the hub to propel the shield distally relative to the hub and into surrounding relationship with the needle cannula. A retainer is provided for releasably holding the shield in a proximal ready-to-use condition relative to the hub and the needle cannula. An actuator releases the retainer and enables the shield to be propelled by the spring. A lock may be provided for preventing inadvertent re-exposure of the needle cannula.

摘要： The present invention relates to a transfer device for transferring medicament from a medicament container to a syringe with a needle. The transfer device is arranged for transferring accurate dosages of insulin, growth hormone or other medicaments. The accuracy is ensured by the device comprising means for mounting a syringe to the device, the needle piercing a sealing of the device. Opposite the sealing a piston is arranged, said piston being non-releasable engaged with the piston driver during transfer of the medicament. Thereby the piston is not erroneously drawn from the piston driver, which would otherwise lead to incorrect dosing. Furthermore, the device comprises dosing means including the piston driver.

摘要： An apparatus for holding a needle such as a medical needle, during exposure to radiation, such as X-ray radiation. The apparatus includes a needle collar and a control bar. The needle collar attaches to the needle shaft and has a first attachment point while the control bar has a second attachment point, where the first and second attachment points cooperate to releasably engage the needle collar and the control bar. In use, when the needle collar and the control bar are engaged, the user grasps the control bar to control the needle while releasing the needle and maintaining the hands of the user outside of a field of the radiation, e.g., outside of a field of the X-ray radiation. The control bar is dimensioned such that its proximal end (i.e., the end to be grasped by the user) is outside the field of radiation.
