    摘要: The invention relates to an intervertebral implant comprising a spacer (2) in which two opposite notches (6a, 6b) are formed suitable for receiving two respective spinus processes (26a, 26b) of two vertebrae, each notch defining two flanges (8a, 10a, 8b, 10b) each having an inside wall, and the implant also having a tie (4a, 4b) for holding said spacer on said spinus processes. Said tie is constituted by at least one strap having a portion surrounding a portion of the surface of a spinus process that is opposite from the bottom of the notch. Said implant has first fixing means (12a, 12b) formed in at least one flange (8a, 8b) for fixing a first end (18a, 18b) of said strap, and self-locking second fixing means (14a, 16a, 14b, 16b) formed in at least one other flange (10a, 10b) and through which the second end (20a, 20b) of said strap is inserted and then pulled to hold said strap (4a, 4b) in position, thereby securing said spacer (2) to said spinus processes (26a, 26b).

    摘要: The invention provides a bone screw for use in an implant assembly having a member including a hole through which the screw extends. The member preferably includes a socket in an anchor that receives a rounded bottom portion of the screw head in order to form a ball and socket connection. The screw has a necked area below the rounded bottom portion which projects through the hole and below that on the longitudinal axis of the screw. The screw includes a knurled collar that is sized so as to allow the anchor to be inserted onto the screw but which subsequently restrains the anchor from falling downward onto the threaded area of the screw.

    摘要: Described is a solid rod implant having a pair of plates at each end of the rod which is designed for bridging two portions of a broken long bone, united or ununited, and maintaining the divided portions of the bone in rigid alignment with each other. The solid rod implant may be rigidly attached to the damaged long bone by means of the pair of partly tubular plates at either end of the rod. These plates provide the sole means of attachment of the implant to the bone i.e there is has no provision for any attachments along, beside or through any portion of the rod that would allow it to be apposed to, or attached to any portion of the bone to which it is providing support during osteosynthesis. By its design and method of rigid attachment to the bone, through partly tubular end plates, the implant allows controlled motion at the fractured or non united portions of the bone fragments, a motion which stimulates rapidly forming external bridging callus formation for osteosynthesis of the long bone, a process that shortens the time of osteosynthesis of long bones so treated.

    摘要: A system for securing first and second opposing facet joints together, comprising: a cannulated drill having a side opening; and an extendible member received within the cannula of the cannulated drill, the extendible member having a distal end which passes out of the side opening in a direction radially outwards from the axis of the cannulated drill as the extendible member is advanced distally through the cannula of the drill. The drill can be rotated such that the extendible member ablates opposite contacting surfaces of first and second facet joints, promoting fusion between the first and second facet joints. A facet screw passing through a hole drilled by the cannulated drill through the first facet joint and into the second facet joint is tightened into position to immobilize the first and second facet joints together.
