摘要： Collapsible and portable cot type bed for pets and children. A spring biased horizontal connector pin can slidably attach bottom edges of vertical support legs to horizontal cross braces to maintain the cot in an assembled position that can support extreme amounts of weight. The horizontal pin can be connected to a bottom portion of a metal strip having an upper edge attached by rivets, solder or welding to the vertical support legs. Side wall panels along the planar support surface of the cot allow for keeping objects from sliding off the cot. A removable canopy for deflecting sun and providing shade when the cot is used outdoors can be mounted to the vertical legs above the planar support surface. The cot can be easily folded like an accordion and placed in a carrying bag and have a weight of less than approximately 15 pounds.

摘要： A multi-season, reversible tent adapted to accommodate prevailing solar conditions. Selected walls are constructed to include insulated liners and solar reflective and absorptive surfaces which cooperate with a longitudinal access opening. The walls assemble to an irregular triangular shape and can be reversed to optimally collect and reflect solar and thermal radiation in relation to one or more occupants and the prevailing conditions. Zippered reliefs at the door control the solar exposure of the wall surfaces and facilitate entry and egress. Multi-section, shock corded, end support frames are permanently contained at hemmed edges of the end walls. Adjoining pole ends are hinged to one another and longitudinal poles extend between eyelets at the hinge joints. Removeable cover, screen and window panels are supported to the door periphery. Rotating vents with overlapping apertures control interior temperature.

摘要： Significant, life-saving protection from airborne, radioactive (fallout) particles due to nuclear explosions, nuclear reactor accidents, and other releases of radioactive particulate is provided by a double-wall tent structure quickly erectable over a central bench or hole. The tent structure includes tightly woven, rip-resistant fabric panels supported by tensile rods or wands, a tub floor extending into and lining a central trench or hole, and an exterior, light-reflecting, metalized, semi-transparent disposable membrane. The bottom circumferential edge of the outer membrane extends into a shallow trench or ditch, excavated around the perimeter of the inner tent structure. Dust particles settling onto the smooth exterior surface of the membrane slide off and are captured in the shallow ditch, thus minimizing direct or indirect radiation into the central trench or hole and its occupants. The perimeter of the outer membrane contains pockets for the storage of potable water and for anchoring of the outer membrane. The tub floor lining extending below the ground surface includes sealable pockets suitable for the storage of refuse and human waste during occupancy. Also described is a light-weight single membrane, plastic, portable tent, suitable for low-cost mass production.

摘要： A collapsible structural assembly is provided with a plurality of inner and outer hubs pivotally and collapsibly joining the ends of tubular elements making up the structural assembly. Each hub assembly includes a pair of joined hub bodies holding a retaining ring captive therebetween and the hub bodies are slotted to expose sections of the ring. The tubular elements are provided end plugs having slots receiving the ends of connector blades, the opposite ends of which are received in the slots of the hub bodies and are pierced by the ring. The tubular elements are crimped to lock the end plugs and connector blades to them.

摘要： A tent is disclosed for sunbathing, camping, hunting and the like, which includes a flexible square floor panel, flexible triangular side walls with each side wall having a lower edge attached to the edge of the floor panel and edges of adjacent side walls attached together to form an apex at the upper end thereof, and a support structure including telescoping rod members positionable within the shelter along the adjoining edges of the side walls and a plastic apex member positionable in the apex formed by the side walls and having downwardly and outwardly facing flexible coils therein to receive the upper ends of the telescoping members when the telescoping members are extended from the lower end of the adjoining edges to the apex member to provide rigid support for the flexible side walls of the tent. A bulbous ended plug in the lower end of each rod has a bore through which a tie-down cord extends and is held in place by a knot on its inner end; the tie-down cord extends externally of the tent through a sealed floor corner opening in the tent. Triangular side panels adjacent a window include stiffeners connectable at their outer ends to define an awning shaped like the corner of a pyramid awning over the window.

摘要： There is disclosed herein an frame apparatus for use as a backpack frame in one configuration and as a tent frame in another configuration. The frame members are shaped and sized so as to nest within each other in the backpack configurations. In the tent configuration, six structural elements from the top of the backpack frame are disassembled and then reassembled in the tent frame configuration. Such an arrangement obviates the need for carrying separate frame components for the tent. It also simplifies the process of erecting the tent since one end of the tent is permanently attached to the portion of the backpack which is attached to the portion of the backpack frame which remains unchanged. The tent is simply rolled and the frame members comprising the tent frame are slipped through sleeves formed along the front edge of the tent. In the preferred embodiment the frame members are made of aluminum and slip together without means for fastening one member inside another.

摘要： A collapsible dome-shaped frame for a tent or similar structure includes a polygonal top ring formed of alternating fixed and pivotal sections, with a foldable, arcuate leg or pole connected to each pivotal section. In the collapsed condition of the frame, the poles extend downwardly, substantially at a right angle to the plane of the top ring forming a barrel-shaped cage for carrying a tent and groundsheet. In order to open the frame, the poles and each pivotal section are rotated relative to the fixed sections of the top ring, so that the poles extend outwardly from the top ring in the same plane as such ring, and the pivotal sections are locked in the open position. The poles, which are formed of arcuate segments interconnected by self-locking hinges, are unfolded to the open position, in which they define the dome-shaped frame with the top ring.
