The attachment base is embedded in the sole, and includes an insertion slot into which the attachment element inserts to attach the vamp or the heel strap to the sole. The insertion slot includes an inner blocking member onto which an arcuate groove is defined. The engagement tooth engages the arcuate groove to attach the attachment element to the attachment base. A guiding lip is further formed in the insertion slot to engage a corresponding stop slot.

A U-shaped cut through a rearward end of the platform forms a first strap disposed toward the forward end with a second aperture through a midpoint of the first strap and aligned with the first aperture. A fastening member passes through the first and second apertures coupling the first strap and the platform and thereby forming two separate passageways. A second strap formed of an elastic material has a first attachment means coupling a forward end of the second strap and the platform adjacent to the fastening member. A second attachment means couples a rearward end of the second strap and the platform adjacent to a lateral edge of the platform.

摘要： Footwear for leaving a personalized imprint on wet sand and other surfaces is accomplished through the removal of material as opposed to previous additive processes. Footwear according to the invention includes a sole portion having a bottom surface with a matrix of projections extending therefrom. Each projection is selectively removable, thereby enabling a user to remove a subset of the projections corresponding to the personalized imprint. The sole portion may form any type of shoe, including sandals, thongs, nullflip-flops,null and so forth. Each projection preferably has a nominal length in the range of {fraction (3/16)} to null inch and a nominal width in the range of null to {fraction (3/16)} inch, and may be circular, triangular, rectangular, square, or hexagonal in cross-section. The matrix of projections may cover the entire bottom surface of the shoe, or a non-partitioned border may be provided which surrounds the matrix of projections. The sole portion may further be at least partially transparent, enabling the user to view the projections therethrough as they are being removed. In use, a plurality of the projections are selectively removed to produce a mirror image corresponding to the personalized footprint. The sole portion is preferably such that it may be flexed to better expose projections to be removed. In the preferred embodiment, the composition of the projections is such that they may be removed by hand as through nullpluckingnull without tools, though a pocket knife, nail clippers, spoon or other common implement may be used.

The cylindrically shaped cushion has an inner fabric 36 and an outer fabric design 30 which can be made in many different designs and colors. The cushion 32 also has a split 34 running vertically therethrough which allows the cushion 32 to be opened at 38 so that it can be placed around the straps 16 of the footwear. Located on one side of the split 34 is a vertical adhesive strip 26 having a peel-off strip 27 which will adhesively seal to the opposing vertical face of the non-adhesive side 40. Also disposed on the inner bore of the cushion 32 is a horizontal adhesive strip 28 having a peel-off strip thereon 29 which is used for attachment to the strap 16.
