Abstract:
A footwear having traditional functionality utilizes uppers that substantially resemble and function as a bikini bra section and a bikini groin section, with each bikini section attachable to the footwear with various decorative fasteners, such as, bikini tie strings, toggles, and ornamental members. The front and rear uppers are substantially triangular and elastic, like a bikini. A sole has a front sole section and a rear sole section. The front upper has at least one front fastening member and at least one front decorative member. The rear upper has at least one rear fastening member and at least one rear decorative member. The rear upper is optional. The front and rear fastening members attach to their respective side of the soles and to each other. A front and rear reinforcing member at each respective upper maintains the uppers to the front and heel of the feet.

The first member includes at least one rib and the second member includes at least one groove, where the at least one connector is secured to the outsole by inserting the second member in the outsole and engaging the at least one rib of the first member with the at least one groove of the second member.

Articles of footwear configured to transition between an open-toed configuration and a closed-toed configuration are described. An open-toed article of footwear may include a sole, a toe bumper, a heel bumper, a toe cushion, a strap assembly, and a plurality of magnetic elements embedded within a portion of the strap assembly. Described embodiments also include a removable cover configured to conformably engage with the strap assembly of an open-toed article of footwear to cover at least a portion of sole between the strap assembly and the toe end of the sole, including a plurality of magnetic elements embedded in locations corresponding to the locations of the plurality of magnetic elements embedded within the strap assembly.

Open styled footwear that includes a sole member, and a strap fixed relative to the sole member is disclosed. An interdigit toe piece is disposed between an upper portion of the strap and the sole member, whereby the footwear is retained to a foot, at least in part, by the upper portion of the strap extending over the foot and the interdigit toe piece is disposed between the first and second toes. In one form, the interdigit toe piece includes a body having opposing concave side surfaces configured, in use, to separate and cradle the first and second toes. An inlay for open styled footwear and foot cushion is also disclosed.

A flexible article of footwear, such as a sandal or the like, with a puncture resistant sole and reinforced strap mount. The article of footwear can also have an adjustable forefoot strap, and the sole can have a midsole, outsole and puncture resistant plate that can be integrally molded together. In some embodiments, the insole can be contoured to match the contour of the wearer's foot compete with arch support.
