摘要: The present invention relates to a nose ring for ruminants such as cattle, comprising a ring body (1) having an extra-nasal part (2) and intra-nasal parts (3) extending on either side of this extra-nasal part (2), each of these intra-nasal parts (3) carrying a plate (4, 5) intended to bear against the nasal septum separating the nasal cavities of a ruminant, said bearing plates (4, 5) thus being placed at the ends of said nose ring. According to the invention, each bearing plate has an elongate shape and comprises opposite ends, at least one of which is wider than the central region thereof placed between said two ends, each plate being convex and having a front face intended to come into contact with the nasal wall of the animal, the surface area of which front face is at least equal to 500 mm2 and preferably at least equal to 1500 mm2, and even more preferably at least equal to 2000 mm2, each bearing plate thus being capable of maximising the contact surface with the nasal septum for different nasal morphologies in order to ensure that this ring is retained without injuring the animal.

摘要: An animal snare includes an elongated barrel and first and second carriages slidably supported on the barrel. The first and second carriages are interconnected by a cord. A snare extends out the first end of the barrel and has at least one end affixed to the second carriage. An elastic member is releasably connected to the first carriage and is configured to bias the first carriage toward a fired position. The elastic member is in tension when the first carriage is in a cocked position. A trigger assembly is configured to retain the first carriage in the cocked position against the tension of the elastic member. Actuation of the trigger assembly causes release of the first carriage and permits the first carriage to travel along the barrel toward the first end to the fired position as the tension in the elastic member is released to draw the snare.

摘要: An improved lunging tool utilized to train animals, such as horses. The lunging tool includes a stiffening component inserted into an internal pocket of the body. 摘要: A cattle roping training dummy (90) that allows a “header” and a “heeler”' to practice roping the head of the cattle roping training dummy (90), the hind legs (175) of the cattle roping training dummy (90), or a combination of the head and the hind legs (175) is described. The cattle roping training dummy (90) comprises a frame (100), a spring (200), a supporting structure (300) and a base (400). The cattle roping training dummy (90) may further comprise a means to actuate side release lever (500). When the frame (100) is released, the spring (200) gives the frame (100) an initial jerk as the frame (100) and provides rotational motion around the supporting structure (300). This jerking motion mimics a live steer that has been roped on the horns or head and is jerked sideways as the cowboy pulls the steer to the left. The cattle roping training dummy (90) also provides the “heeler” with the opportunity to practice alone. The cattle roping training dummy (90) provides the convenience of: a) quick fold up for easy moving and storing, and b) quick setup.

摘要: A wireless location assisted zone guidance system incorporates dynamically variable intervals between sequential position requests. Variables used to influence the duration of a current interval between sequential position requests include: location within a current zone; displacement rate within a zone; and output from sensors such as secondary low power location sensors, inertial sensors, and biometric sensors. Preferably, the sensors are not being used to try to determine precise position, but instead to indicate a degree of uncertainty in the current position. When this degree of uncertainty is sufficient to merit added processing and associated energy consumption, a new wireless location determination will be made.
