    摘要: An automatic lathe (10) is provided with a first spindle (14) having an axis of rotation (14a), a first tool rest (18) capable of holding a plurality of tools (22) in a parallel arrangement, a second tool rest (20) capable of holding a plurality of tools (22) in parallel arrangements in a first row and second row exhibiting mutually different nose orientations, and a second spindle (16) having an axis of rotation parallel to the axis of rotation of the first spindle and capable of being located facing the first spindle, in such a manner as to be centrally carried on a lathe bed (12). The first spindle can move linearly along a first control axis parallel to its axis of rotation. The first tool rest can move linearly along a second control axis perpendicular to the first control axis. The second tool rest can move linearly along a third control axis perpendicular to the first control axis and a fourth control axis parallel to the first control axis. The second spindle can move linearly along a fifth control axis parallel to the third control axis and a sixth control axis parallel to the first control axis. A control unit (106) enables simultaneous performance of first machining work relating to the first spindle by a desired tool selected at the first tool rest, second machining work relating to the first spindle by a desired tool selected from the first row at the second tool rest, and third machining work relating to the second spindle by a desired tool selected from the second row at the second tool rest.

    摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide a multi-function machine tool which makes it possible to machine helical grooves of diverse shapes in a workpiece using an all-purpose multi-function machine tool, and a machining method of this multi-function machine tool. The multi-function machine tool of the present invention has a tool rest main body which is disposed movably relative to the main spindle of the machine tool in a first linear direction parallel to the axial line of the main spindle and a second linear direction perpendicular to the axial line of the main spindle, a turning tool rest 72 which is disposed so that this turning tool rest can turn relative to the tool rest main body about a turning axis 73 oriented in a direction that is perpendicular to the first and second linear directions, and control means which control the rotational motion of the main spindle, the turning motion of the turning tool rest about the turning axis, and the relative motion of the tool rest main body. Furthermore, the control means can cause the turning tool rest to perform a turning motion about an arbitrary position that differs from the position of the turning axis by concurrently and synchronously causing a turning motion of the turning tool rest about the turning axis, and a circular-arc motion based on the relative motion of the tool rest main body in the first linear direction and second linear direction.

    摘要: A cutting tool system includes a clamping device and a cutting tool mounted therein. The cutting tool carries a cutting edge and includes a shaft clamped within an aperture of the clamping device. Prior to being clamped, the shaft is movable relative to the clamping device in either a longitudinal or rotational direction, in order to locate the cutting edge in a desired position. Either the clamping device or the cutting tool carries a spring-loaded device which engages a recess formed in the other of the cutting tool and clamping device when the cutting tool and its cutting edge are in a desired position, to provide an indication that the cutting tool is in such desired position by providing a sudden increase in a force necessary to displace the cutting tool out of such desired position.

    摘要: A lathe or each of lathes of a machining system comprises a head stock, which is transferred on a rail mechanism. The rail mechanism includes a vertically guiding rail which is mounted on a horizontally guiding rail. A turret has a turret support which has a pair of turret support attaching surfaces. The turret is attached with either of turret support attaching surfaces. A extruded horizontally guiding rail is located between both the bed bodies, each of which is included in each of the lathes. The extruded horizontally guiding rail is identical with a connecting guiding rail which connects the one horizontally guiding rail of the one lathe with the other horizontally guiding rail of the other lathe. A work stocking means is located between the bed bodies. A reversing means for reversing works is provided with the head stock.

    摘要: There is provided a high-production machining device having first and second spindles rotatably mounted on a headstock. A carriage is slidably mounted on the machine bed, and in a preferred embodiment a first drive assembly is provided for sliding the carriage across the upper face of the bed along a transverse axis thereof. First and second slides are slidably mounted on the carriage for movement in a direction normal to the transverse axis, with the first and second slides each adapted to carry a machine tool and each being attached to a common second drive assembly for moving the slides in that normal direction. A linear sensor monitors the positions of the first and second slides relative one another, and an independent compensating assembly is provided for adjusting the position of one of the slides relative the other in the normal direction, whereby positions of the first and second slides in the normal direction can be effectively independently controlled. In a preferred embodiment, the machining device further includes an independent adjustment device for moving one of the spindles relative the other in a direction parallel to the transverse axis, whereby the positions of the first and second slides in the transverse direction can be effectively independently controlled.
