    摘要: Inventive embodiments are directed to components, subassemblies, systems, and/or methods for continuously variable transmissions (CVT). In one embodiment, a main axle is adapted to receive a carrier assembly to facilitate the support of components in a CVT. In another embodiment, a carrier includes a stator support member and a stator interfacial member. In some embodiments, the stator interfacial member is configured to interact with planet subassemblies of a CVT. Various inventive planet subassemblies and idler assemblies can be used to facilitate shifting the ratio of a CVT. In some embodiments, the planet subassemblies include legs configured to have a sliding interface with a carrier assembly. Embodiments of a hub shell, a hub cover are adapted to house components of a CVT and, in some embodiments, to cooperate with other components of the CVT to support operation and/or functionality of the CVT. Among other things, shift control interfaces and braking features for a CVT are disclosed.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a compact motion conversion transmission apparatus which can set the transmission characteristic for motion or force as desired over a wide range. The apparatus includes input, intermediate, and output members which are fitted to one another while being aligned with an axis and move in relation to one another while being aligned with the axis. Further, the apparatus includes first transmission means which converts a first motion of the input member to a second motion and transmits the second motion to the intermediate member, the first motion being one of a rectilinear motion along the axis and a rotary motion about the axis, and the second motion being the other of the rectilinear motion along the axis and the rotary motion about the axis; and second transmission means which converts the second motion of the intermediate member to the first motion and transmits the first motion to the output member. At least one of the first transmission means and the second transmission means continuously and nonlinearly varies a ratio of an amount of motion of a motion transmission destination member to an amount of motion of a motion transmission source member according to the amount of motion of the motion transmission source member.

    摘要: A vibrational tool and method is disclosed, which may be utilized to assist in lowering a drill string into a wellbore. In one embodiment, a reciprocating member and a symmetrical rotating member are mounted within a vibrational tool housing. The reciprocating member is urged in one embodiment by a spring assembly toward the rotating member whereby engagement surfaces on the reciprocating member and rotating member encounter each other. As the rotating member rotates, variable surfaces on the engagement surface cause the reciprocating member to reciprocate as the variable surfaces follow or cam with respect to each other during rotation. The resistance to rotation by engagement surfaces and spring assembly, and mass of the rotating member, result in vibrational forces, when drilling fluid flows through the vibration tool housing.

    摘要: Mechanisms and methods for clamping force generation are disclosed. In one embodiment, a clamping force generator includes a spring coupled to a traction ring and to a load cam roller cage. The traction ring can be provided with a recess to receive the spring. In some embodiments, a relatively short spring is provided. In other embodiments, a spring couples to a wire and the spring-wire combination couples to the traction ring and the load cam roller cage. In some embodiments, the load cam roller cage is provided with tabs adapted to engage the wire and/or the spring. In yet other embodiments, the traction ring is configured to receive a dowel pin for coupling to the spring. One or more of the tabs can include a tab notch that cooperates with a stop pin coupled to the traction ring to provide adjustment of the travel of the load cam roller cage.

    摘要: One embodiment of the horsepower amplifier module (FIG. 2) proofs the usefulness of a new approach to mechanical interventions. Mechanical advantage principles and the laws of leverage are fully exploited to increase energy efficiency while operating any horsepower producing means. Newly designed pressure ring (60), and pressure ring (61), are mounted respectably on rotary assemblies (FIG. 2B) and (FIG. 2C). Rotational energy applied to assemblies prompts the lateral displacement of components (60) and (61). A more powerful force is created and is directed to collector (78). Multiple modules supplying energy to same shaft (as shown in FIG. 3) offer a variety of options for effective operation of adopted application. A second embodiment (FIG. 4) is described as a possible arrangement available to enhance the overall capabilities of the horsepower multiplier module.

    摘要: A rotational to linear displacement conversion mechanism comprises: an assembly including a plurality of driver discoidal elements and a plurality of driven discoidal elements mounted alternately on a common central axis to form an interleaved stack. Each discoidal element has a ramped surface, the ramped surfaces of adjacent elements being complementarily shaped and opposed so that, when in contact and completely interengaged, they form a stack of minimum length. A coupling means is provided for coupling the driver discoidal elements for rotation together about the axis by an externally applied force while permitting them to translate along the axis. The driven elements are mounted in such a way as to permit translation along the common axis while preventing rotation of the driven elements about the common axis. A rotational displacement of the driver elements by such an externally applied force causes the elements to separate by camming action of their interengaged ramp surfaces so as to produce an extension of the stack corresponding to the cumulative separations of the driver and driven elements. Finally, a resilient bias means is coupled to a driven element in such a way as to restore the assembly to its minimum length in the absence of the externally applied force.
