    摘要: A cutting tool has a recess for receiving a cutting insert having a clamping depression on the rake face. The cutting insert is held in the carrier tool by a clamping finger having a lug. The clamping finger being secured on the carrier tool via a clamping bolt so that when tightening the clamping bolt, the clamping finger pulls the cutting insert into the recess. A sickle-shaped engagement element engages into the clamping depression of the cutting insert being arranged on the lug. The clamping bolt has a clamping head overhanging its shank. The clamping head is seated on an angled locating surface of the clamping finger with respect to the axis of the clamping bolt, wherein said surface is arranged so compression force of the clamping finger on the cutting insert is enhanced. The lug has a clamping surface for bearing on the rake face of the cutting insert.

    摘要: A cutting tool assembly includes a tool body and a clamping mechanism for releasably clamping a cutting insert to the tool body. The clamping mechanism includes a rotatable cam member, a coupling member, a biasing spring and a clamping element. The rotation of the rotatable cam member in opposite senses results in the adjustment of the position of the coupling member in opposite directions, which results in a displacement of the clamping element, and therefore changing the locking position to a releasing position and vice versa.

    摘要: In order to perform turning operations of the kind that has heretofore been performed by diamond-shaped inserts, an insert which is basically equilateral triangular in shape with multiple alternately usable cutting edges, of which all three corners are usable as cutting edges, without decreasing the positional accuracy of the cutting edge during cutting. At least one recess and a plurality of protrusions are formed on each side of the insert. The recess and protrusions formed on the insert are brought into engagement with a protrusion and recesses formed on a side wall of a seating groove formed in a holder. In this state, the insert is pressed against a bottom seating face and the side wall of the seating groove with a clamp as a means to stably restrain the insert. This prevents shifting of the cutting edge during cutting even if the direction of the cutting force changes.

The head region contains a coolant entrance passage, which receives coolant from a coolant source, and a coolant delivery passage, which discharges coolant toward a cutting insert. The head region further contains a fastener bore, which receives a fastener. The fastener has an axial fastener bore which provides fluid communication between the coolant entrance passage and a coolant reservoir between the fastener and the fastener bore. The coolant delivery passage communicates with the coolant reservoir to receive coolant, which passed from the coolant entrance passage and through the axial fastener bore into the coolant reservoir.

    摘要: This detachable insert type cutting tool is provided with a cutting insert and a holder which holds the cutting insert. An insert mounting seat on which the cutting insert is mounted and upper and lower jaw sections which pinch the cutting insert are provided in the holder. The insert mounting seat is provided between the lower surface of the upper jaw section and the upper surface of the lower jaw section. Convex curve outer surfaces are formed on one side of the upper and lower jaw sections when viewed from the leading end sides of the upper and lower jaw sections, and concave curve inner surfaces are formed on the other side of the upper and lower jaw sections. In a state where the cutting insert is fixed to the insert mounting seat, the concave curve inner surface of the upper jaw section is disposed at a position retreated further radially outward than an arc surface extending along the concave curve inner surface of the lower jaw section.

    摘要: In a head member (30) for this cutting tool with detachable insert (70), a slit (38) is provided so as to further extend towards a rear end side from a rear end for an insert attachment seat formed by a pressing surface of an upper jaw portion of a head member body (31) and a pedestal surface of a lower jaw portion (33). Also, a clamp screw engaged with the upper jaw portion is screwed while inclining in a direction separated as it moves towards the lower jaw portion (33), with respect to an imaginary plane (P) which extends along an extension direction of the slit (38) and in a direction in which the pressing surface and the pedestal surface face each other, whereby the upper jaw portion is enabled to elastically deform by using as a fulcrum a connecting portion 39 between a rear wall surface (38B) of the slit (38), and a rear end surface (31F) of the head member body (31). Moreover, the connecting portion (39) is formed such that the width thereof in the extension direction becomes gradually greater as the clamp screw moves in a separating direction from the imaginary plane (P). According to the head member (30), a cutting insert (50) can be stably clamped by elastically deforming the jaw portion formed with the pressing surface straight with respect to the pedestal surface while operating a large clamping force.
