摘要: A method of manufacturing an optimized sheet metal (1) of a zirconium based alloy is described, which optimized sheet metal (1) defines a sheet plane (BA). The method comprises the steps of providing a sheet metal (2) of a zirconium based. alloy, subjecting the sheet metal (2) to at least a preparing cold rolling and a final cold rolling, wherein the preparing cold rolling and the final cold rolling are both performed in a common rolling direction, and heat treating the sheet metal (1) between the preparing cold rolling and the final cold rolling so that the zirconium based alloy is partially re-crystallized. A method of manufacturing a spacer grid using an optimized sheet metal (1) according to the invention is also described.

摘要: An underwater cutting device for the handle of MTR plate-type fuel has a housing that has an accommodation space for a feed pneumatic cylinder to drive a slidable base for lateral movement. And in front of the accommodation space there is a cutting chamber. A primary motor is located on the slidable base to drive the saw blade inside the cutting chamber to move and cut laterally with the slidable base that is driven by the feed pneumatic cylinder. A positioning block is located on the side with the housing and in the moving path of the saw blade. In the positioning block there is an accommodation space to hold the MTR plate-type fuel. Above the positioning block there is at least a pressing pneumatic cylinder to immobilize the MTR plate-type fuel and facilitate the saw blade to cut and remove the handle of MTR plate-type fuel. On the side of the bottom of the cutting chamber there is a filtration motor to absorb the metal cutting debris and deliver the debris through a conduit to the filter frame that contains filter for filtration.

摘要: A modular submersible repairing system is capable of dealing with various tasks somewhat inefficiently, though, and of being inserted and installed in a reactor instantly, and highly maneuverable. A repairing method is carried out by the modular submersible repairing system. The modular submersible repairing system comprises a working unit including at least one type of tool module (1) capable of repairing structures in a reactor, a scanning/pitching module (2) capable of being selectively connected to or disconnected from the tool module, and provided with a scanning/pitching shaft for scanning or pitching the tool module, a submersible fan module (3) capable of being selectively connected to or disconnected from the scanning/pitching module, and a first buoyant module (4) for keeping the orientation of the tool module; and a base unit including a manipulator module (5) internally provided with an actuator driving mechanism, a adsorbing module (6) capable of being detachably mounted on the manipulator module and of adsorbing to a wall, and a second buoyant module (8) for keeping the orientation of the manipulator module. Each of at least the scanning/pitching module and the manipulator module is provided with a submersible connecting device (18, 21) capable of being operated in water for engagement and disengagement. The configuration and functions of the modular submersible repairing system can be changed or modified according to various purposes of work in the reactor by properly combining those modules. The modules can be connected together in the reactor by remotely operating the submersible connecting devices.

摘要: A method for removing a plug from engagement with a nuclear reactor steam generator tube within a tube bundle, which plug has a shell, an expander, and a plug top, by providing a drill bit having a pilot portion and a drill portion, where the pilot portion diameter is smaller than the drill portion diameter. Further, removing a portion of the plug shell and expander using the drill bit and leaving the plug top in the tube. The plug top may be removed by providing a gripper tool, inserting the gripper tool into the tube, urging the gripper against the plug top and removing the plug top by removing the gripper from the tube.

摘要: A modular grid welding fixture for a spacer grid that facilitates full grid laser welding of a spacer grid in one setup. The modular design allows for partial implementation of each weld type. A base plate is used for mounting to the positioning/rotational plate of the welding system. A removable sub-plate received in the base plate is used to position the grid strips for proper location for welding. A top fixture plate is aligned with the base plate and provides for mounting of a second sub-plate if required. Side plates with spring loaded pressure pads that are hinged to the top fixture plate apply uniform pressure to the outer grid strips during processing. The base plate, top plate, side plate, and pressure pads are provided with a plurality of through holes to allow access of the laser beam for welding. Corner clips are used to insure contact of the overlapping sections of the outer grid strips for proper corner welding.

摘要: An automated fuel assembly loader, capable of patterned loading, moves nuclear fuel rods in a loading direction between a fuel rod skeleton defining an array of receptacles for the fuel rods, and a fuel rod magazine supplying or receiving the fuel rods. A table supports the fuel rod skeleton at a loading position. A movable carriage having a line of individual fuel rod engaging devices moves a subset of fuel rods along the line forward in the loading direction. The rods are selected via a pattern stored in a controller. Selection devices such as pneumatic clamps mechanically couple the selected engaging devices to the carriage for movement while others are left behind. A ball screw carriage drive arrangement moves the carriage parallel to the loading direction and a jack screw positioning drive displaces the carriage perpendicular to the line of fuel rods. A controller is coupled to the carriage drive and to the selection devices, and stores data defining a preset pattern of receptacles in the array, operating the selection devices for actuating a group of engaging devices corresponding to the pattern. The controller also controls displacement speed, permitting patterned loading of the skeleton, for example to obtain a particular pattern of fuel rod enrichments, the controller moving line by line through an array of fuel rod receptacles in the skeleton.

摘要: An apparatus and method are provided for servicing an irradiated nuclear control rod underwater in a reactor building servicing pool. A turntable containing a plurality of spaced apart tools is positioned adjacent to the control rod. A first tool aligns the turntable relative to the radioactive roller mounted to the control rod by a radioactive pin therethrough. The turntable is indexable to position a second tool adjacent to the radioactive roller and pin, with the second tool being effective for freeing the radioactive pin from the control rod. The turntable is indexable for positioning a third tool adjacent to the radioactive roller and pin for removing the radioactive pin and the roller from the control rod. In further embodiments of the invention the turntable is further indexable for positioning a fourth tool adjacent to the control rod for reaming the pin aperture through which the radioactive pin was mounted. The turntable further includes a fifth tool which is indexable into position adjacent to the control rod for inserting a replacement roller and replacement pin therein. The replacement pin is secured to the control rod by a sixth tool supported on the turntable which is also indexable into position.
