    摘要： A folded food carton is formed from a matable, lay flat blank for retaining, transporting and serving hot food such as pizza. The blank includes an arrangement of end panels, side panels and cover panels foldable relative to a bottom panel such that, in the erected carton, the cover panels overlap and are interlocked with the side panels by means of offset locking tabs. The end panels slant upwardly and inwardly from the bottom panel to add rigidity and save material for the carton. The side panels flare upwardly and outwardly from the bottom panel and extend above the cover panels to enhance stackability and prevent shifting of stacked cartons one on top of the other. Several methods of packaging pizza in the folded carton are disclosed.

    摘要： A strip made up of consecutive package blanks has been described. This strip consists of cardboard and has continuous longitudinal folding lines, which divide each blank into longitudinal zones, and in each blank four transversal folding lines which divide the blank into five transversal zones. Thus each blank can be folded to become a package wherein the centermost transversal zone constitutes the rectangular sides of the package, the transversal zones following on either side and which have on the areas of the longitudinal zones, which in the folding process come to be opposite each other, oblique folding lines enabling a folding up constitute the ends of the package and the edgemost transversal zones constitute at the ends seams which close the package. The seams are formed by cardboard layers that are lying against each other and bonded together with the aid of plastic. Those longitudinal zones, in which the oblique folding lines are located, present on the dividing line between consecutive blanks in the cardboard apertures which have been covered with a plastic layer so that when the blanks are being folded the plastic covering the apertures will be doubled at the seams to be sandwiched between two opposed cardboard layers forming the seam.

    摘要： A carton for ice cream, ice milk, sherbet, mellorine and like products is shown, particularly proportioned for a half-gallon capacity having top and bottom panels with a length to width ratio of approximately two to one, preferably this ratio is two to one or greater, front and rear panels having a length to height ratio of more than two to one, and front tear tab opening means which constitute less than ten percent of the perimeter dimension of the carton taken around its width and height. Various embodiments having opposed closure flaps of varying constructions are at each end of the carton ranging from full closure to full closure with a recess for nesting or partial closure with a thumb tab for the same capacity with reduced board usage. The carton blank is susceptible of being manufactured on a milk carton blank machine, and the blank length at any location is held to a maximum of about 15.7 inches. The side seam flap itself is less than ten percent of the total perimeter dimension, and the preferred embodiment is sealed with a line of weakness adjacent the upper edge of the front panel so that upon tearing, the paper is torn from the outer face of the covered portion of the front panel in a strip generally parallel to the upper cut-out portion of the front panel.
