    摘要: An isothermal cooking plate assembly is formed from a first plate of high thermal conductivity material having a back surface and an oppositely disposed top cooking surface. One or more heater circuit assemblies are disposed on the first plate back surface for forming a composite having a back surface. A controller is in electrical connection with the heater circuit assemblies for controlling temperature of the first plate of high thermal conductivity material. The first plate can be substantially pure one or more aluminum, substantially pure copper, or aluminum nitride. The first plate can be a laminate formed from a clad bottom metal layer and clad top cooking surface metal layer, where the clad layers formed from the same material and having about the same thickness. The clad material can be austenitic stainless steel. A second plate of low thermal conductivity material can be attached to the composite back surface.

    摘要: A heating unit for use in heating plates used for cooking, irons, and the like in which a conventional helical heater coil wire is pressed flat to provide a zig-zag, S shaped conductor and then embedded in an embedding compound in the heating unit. Pressing of the helical coils to provide the flat zig-zagging coil permits a more efficient heat transfer, since all of the heating coil will be in a plane parallel to and close to the surface being heated.

    摘要: A heat resistant electrical insulating unit having a rigid body of a ceramic material and a layer of ceramic fiber web bound to the ceramic body into a single unit. The unit may have several layers of rigid ceramic and fiber web layers with the fiber web layers spaced from each other and having an electrical resistance element interposed between them, the outermost rigid bodies being joined together mechanically or being welded together in such a manner that the fiber web layers and the interposed resistance element are held clamped between the rigid ceramic bodies. A method is also disclosed for making heating elements wherein a resistance heating element and the insulating layer or layers are joined together into an essentially two-dimensional unit and are placed on a flat glass ceram body which has been heated to a welding temperature, and thereafter a second glass ceram body which has been heated up to body temperature is placed upon and pressed against the first-mentioned body in such a manner that the two bodies are welded together and enclose at least the edge portion of the said unit all around the same.

The sheath is brazed directly to a member to be heated to form an integrally bonded structure in which the composite materials all have similar thermal expansion characteristics.
