摘要: Periodic signal generators include an oscillator circuit, which is configured to generate a first periodic signal at an output thereof, and a piezoelectric-based microelectromechanical resonator. The resonator is configured to generate a second periodic signal at a first electrode thereof, which is electrically coupled to the oscillator circuit. A variable impedance circuit is provided, which is electrically coupled to a second electrode of the piezoelectric-based microelectromechanical resonator. The variable impedance circuit is configured to passively modify a frequency of the second periodic signal by changing an induced electromechanical stiffness in at least a portion of the piezoelectric-based microelectromechanical resonator.

摘要: A MEMS oscillator includes a resonator body and primary and secondary drive electrodes to electrostatically drive the resonator body. Primary and secondary sense electrodes sense motion of the resonator body. The primary and secondary drive and sense electrodes are configured to be used together during start-up of the MEMS oscillator. The secondary drive electrode and secondary sense electrode are disabled after start-up, while the primary drive and sense electrodes remain enabled to maintain oscillation.

摘要: The device resonant comprises a plurality of synchronized oscillators. Each oscillator comprises a resonator which comprises detection means providing detection signals representative of oscillation of the resonator to a feedback loop connected to an excitation input of the resonator. The detection signals control the conductivity of the feedback loop of the oscillator. The excitation inputs of all the resonators are connected to a common point which constitutes the output of the resonant device. A capacitive load is connected between said common point and a reference voltage.

摘要: Two tuning forks, each resonant at a different frequency, are connected to generate a beat-frequency signal for a time standard. Each tuning fork is incorporated within the feedback loop of an electromechanical oscillator, the separate outputs of which are applied to a modulator. The difference or beatfrequency output signal of the modulator is used to drive an electric force transducer which, in turn, drives a clockwork. The present invention relates to improvements in generating time standard signals for clockworks and more particularly to a two tuning fork system for generating a stable, low-beat frequency signal. Advantageously, the present invention utilizes the structural and physical characteristics of high ''''Q'''' tuning forks as described in my copending application, Ser. No. 843,923, filed July 23, 1969, for ''''Tuning Forks and Oscillators Embodying the Same.
