    Abstract: A rotating anode disk is balanced in a state where the rotating anode disk is mounted inside an X-ray tube. An adjustment device (54) balances the rotating anode disk in an operating state. The adjustment device includes at least a first plurality (72) of balancing elements (74) which are attached to at least one circular ring structure (76). The balancing elements each include a balancing portion (80) mounted to the circular ring structure via a bending portion (82). The bending portions are configured to be heated to a bending temperature to allow a radial pivoting movement (84) of the balancing portion from a first state (86) into a second state (88) caused by centrifugal forces upon rotation. A center of mass of the balancing portion is closer to a center (90) of the circular ring structure in a first state than the second state.

    Abstract: An x-ray tube assembly is provided comprising a tube casing assembly including a plurality of vertical mount posts. An insulator plate is mounted to the plurality of vertical mount posts such that the insulator plate can translate vertically on the posts. A cathode assembly is mounted to the insulator plate and generates both an eccentric moment and a vertical expansion in response to a cathode power load. A semi-compressible element is positioned between at least one of the vertical mount posts and the insulator plate. The semi-compressible element becomes incompressible at a cathode power threshold such that the vertical expansion is translated into a correction moment countering the eccentric moment.

    Abstract: X-ray tube noise is reduced by coupling the stator mass to the neck section of the glass vacuum tube so that vibrations are dissipated by the stator and not transmitted to the bulk of the vacuum tube. The coupling is accomplished with a non-magnetic sealing material such as an epoxy sealant. The sealant will generally fill the gap between the stator and the neck section of the vacuum tube. Alternatively, the coupling can be done with a mechanical clamping device.

A structure for accommodation of at least one heat conductor element produced from a second material is provided on an external side of the anode facing away from the cathode, in an annular segment situated opposite the anode. The second material exhibits a higher heat conductivity than the first material. The heat conductor elements are accommodated in the structure to form expansion gaps.

    Abstract: An X-ray tube with a rotatable anode for generating X-rays and an X-ray apparatus and a method for balancing the rotary anode of an X-ray tube include balancing of the rotary anode applicable to an anode mounted inside an X-ray tube. The rotatable anode includes an anode disc fixedly mounted to a rotatably driven support body, which is rotatably supported by a bearing arrangement. The anode includes at least one balancing cavity to adjust the center of gravity of the anode. The balancing cavity is partly filled with a balancing material being solid at operating temperature of the X-ray tube and liquid at a higher temperature. The balancing method includes determining an imbalance of the anode; heating liquefy balancing material; dislocating the balancing material inside the balancing cavity to compensate the imbalance; and cooling to solidify the balancing material.
