摘要: A system and computer-implemented method for generating music content includes a music notation data store having a collection of notation data files and an audio data store having a collection of audio data files, each data file in the notation and audio data stores including associated music characteristic metadata. One or more computer processor is arranged to receive user music preference inputs from a user interface and to search the notation and audio data stores to identify a plurality of data files corresponding to one or more user preference input. The processor randomly selects at least one notation file and at least one audio file from the identified notation and audio files and generates a music instance file by combining the selected notation and audio files for playback to the user.

摘要: A method for performing a piece of music comprising the steps of: receiving (310) an input signal from a musical instrument (220), the inputs signal encoding the notes played on the instrument (220), matching (320) a note or combination of notes in the input signal to a respective trigger in a predefined set of triggers stored in a memory (130), each trigger being associated with a respective fragment of music that makes up a part of the piece of music, each fragment having a predefined length and starting from a predefined position relative to the start of a bar, and at least one of the fragments being more complex than the associated trigger, wherein when a note or combination of notes that matches a trigger is played by the user the method outputs (330) at least part of the matched fragment that starts at the time that the note or combination of notes is played.

摘要: In one embodiment, a system for analyzing melodies is disclosed that may receive data for a musical composition, the data including a sequence of notes that make up a melody contained in the musical composition, and store, in a database, a pitch and a duration for at least one note in the sequence of notes in association with the melody. In addition, the system may determine at least one pitch differential and at least one duration ratio for at least two consecutive notes in the sequence of notes, and store, in the database, the at least one pitch differential and the at least one duration ratio in association with the melody. The system may also generate at least one metric associated with the melody based on the at least one pitch differential and/or the at least one duration ratio.
