    A control unit determines, on the basis of the weight detected by the first weighing element, the flow rate of additive material discharged from the gravimetric metering device by regulating the supply member and controls the operation of the first weighing element by means of the second weighing element by comparing, at the start and at the end of a cycle for charging the hopper with the additive material, the weight detected by the first weighing element with the weight detected by the second weighing element.

The device comprises a pair of combination weighing and packing machines mounted on a common frame as a single unit. Each machine includes a combination weigher and an associated packer which are mechanically interlocked so that the batches of product successively delivered from the combination weigher are packed by the packer in tubular bags fabricated successively from a sheet material. The combination weighers of both machines have their own control units electronically interlocked so that both machines can operate in mutually synchronized or nonsynchronized fashion with or without time lag.

    摘要: A combinatorial weighing method and apparatus in which weight data from N-number of weighing machines containing articles are combined to obtain an optimum combination of weighing machines giving a total combined weight value of articles equal to a preset value Wa or closet to the preset value Wa within preset allowable limits, and in which the articles are discharged from the obtained optimum combination of weighing machines. The method includes starting combinations with i as the initial number of weighing machines in each combination, wherein i represents the number of weighing machines which tends to afford the optimum combination more readily than other numbers of the weighing machines. Combinations which select the i-number of weighing machines from the N-number of weighing machines, are generated continuously and it is determined whether the total weight value of each combination machine falls within the preset allowable limits. A combination which is within the preset allowable limits is stored, and articles are discharged based on the stored optimum combination. The initial value of i is set to N/2 when N is even, to (N/2).+-.0.5 when N is odd, or to a value obtained by performing the following operation: ##EQU1## where Wi (i=1, 2, . . . , N) represents the weight of article batches supplied to each of the weighing machines. For each total weight value of a certain combination that is obtained, the value is ranked as being underweight, proper or overweight, the weight values are counted rank by rank, and the quantity of articles suppled to the weighing hoppers is controlled based on the counted value in each rank. When an optimum combination is not found with the initial number of weighing machines, i is updated based on the counted value in each rank, and processing for selection of an optimum combination is re-executed.

    摘要: A method of weight determination of the amount of a substance possessing fluidity quality, carried out in a continuous flow of the substance, which method comprises the steps as follows: periodically loading a number of reservoirs with the substance being fed therein continuously until a preset upper range is reached which is determined by at least one of the characteristics including the volume and weight of the substance and load time; weighing each of the reservoirs for the preset upper range after a time interval corresponding to the setup time for the reservoir with the substance; unloading each of the reservoirs to obtain the preset lower range and weighing each of the reservoirs for the preset lower range after a time interval corresponding to the setup time for the reservoir with the substance; unloading each of the reservoirs in coincidence with loading one of the remaining reservoirs and with unloading at least one of the remaining reservoirs; and determining the total amount of the substance using the weighing results relating to the reservoirs with the substance for the preset upper and lower ranges. An apparatus to carry out the method of the invention comprises a number of reservoirs, and device for feeding the substance into the reservoirs and a device for withdrawing the substance from the reservoirs, all of which devices are associated with respective reservoirs. Designed to communicate with said devices and with a control unit are reservoir loading and unloading devices. The reservoirs suspend from dynamometric pickups, which are rigidly attached to a body and coupled to frequency converters. There are devices for indicating the amount of the substance led into the reservoirs, said devices having contactless signalling elements for the preset upper range and being connected to the control unit. There are devices for indicating the amount of the substance withdrawn from the reservoirs, which devices having contactless signalling units for the preset lower range and being connected to the control unit. The apparatus of the invention comprises a unit to measure and register the amount of the substance, the latter unit being connected to the control unit.

    摘要: Apparatus for weighing a continuous flow of powder material, including two separate weighing hoppers, a diverting valve for switching the flow from one hopper to the other and a closure valve for emptying each hopper. Each hopper is supported for small vertical movements by a suspension system including two pairs of crossed flexible wires at upper and lower levels, with the intersections of the wires lying on a vertical axis through a load cell which thus senses the gross weight of the hopper and its load. An automatic controller with a register totals the successive recorded gross or live weights of the hoppers and subtracts successive readings of the tare weights.
