    摘要: A nock assembly for use with a crossbow bolt includes a nock body defining a notch into which the bowstring of a crossbow is insertable. A light assembly includes a switch member at one end of the notch. First and second spherical caps protrude into the notch and define a first gap therebetween. Third and fourth spherical caps protrude into the notch and define a second gap therebetween. The bowstring is positionable between the spherical caps such that the first and second spherical caps resist movement of the bowstring out of the notch, and the third and fourth spherical caps resist movement of the bowstring toward the switch member. Release of the bowstring from its cocked or drawn position causes the bowstring to pass through the second gap and contact the switch member to turn on the light assembly.

    摘要: A projectile for use with an air gun includes a light-emitting apparatus and a switch the controls the light-emitting apparatus. The switch is sensitive to pressure and causes the light-emitting apparatus to emit visible light in response to gas pressure that ejects the projectile from the air gun. The visible light assists a shooter in observing the flight path of the projectile and may assist the shooter in tracking a target animal by increasing the visibility of the projectile after it has impacted the target animal.

    摘要: A system and method for arrow fletching by bonding vanes to a vinyl wrap allows for efficient, accurate fletching of arrows. The vanes are placed into a number of slits positioned on a jig plate. The jig plate in a holder is placed into a heat press, thereby bonding the vanes to the vinyl wrapping and creating a fletched arrow wrap. Once the fletched arrow wraps are cooled they are placed in a fletching jig, with an adhesive coating on the backside of the wrap exposed by removing a paper backing. The shaft of each arrow is rolled over the adhesive coating such that the wrap becomes affixed to the shaft of the arrow, thereby fletching the shaft.

    摘要: A high impact strength nock assembly that couples with, and decouples from, a bushing mounted in an arrow. The forces applied to the nock during launch are translated to the arrow through the bushing, greatly extending arrow life. For lighted nock applications, the nock translates within the bushing during launch to activate the light. A battery stop is coupled to the battery and releasably coupled within the center opening of the bushing that resists longitudinal translation of the battery relative to the bushing. Consequently, the light can be deactivated without removing the lighted nock assembly from the bushing. The entire lighted nock assembly is removable from the bushing for maintenance and replacement.
