Abstract: A side lock action firearm has a frame with an attached side lock action. The frame includes a rearwardly protruding portion including a mating feature. A stock including a mating element is removably connected to the frame when the mating element is engaged with the mating feature. The mating feature may be a threaded boss. The mating element may be a draw bolt. A forward portion of the stock may be shaped to closely receive the rearwardly protruding portion of the frame. The stock may include a central bore, and the draw bolt may be received by the central bore in the stock.

Abstract: A method of locking a barrel of a firearm with respect to a barrel slide is provided. The method including the steps of: movably mounting a barrel slide to a housing of the firearm; movably mounting a barrel to the barrel slide; movably mounting a pair of locking bodies in a transverse groove of a head of the barrel; and securing a locking block to the housing, wherein movement of the head of the barrel with respect to the locking block in a longitudinal direction causes the barrel to be locked to the barrel slide, wherein the pair of locking bodies engage recesses on the barrel slide when the barrel is locked to the barrel slide, wherein the locking block has two first wedge surfaces which are symmetrical about a longitudinal center plane and the locking bodies are elongated cylinders, the circumferential surface of which has two parallel planar guide surfaces resting in the transverse groove, a second wedge surface which faces the other locking body and interacts with the first wedge surfaces of the locking block, and an engagement surface which faces away from the other locking body in each case and is intended for engaging in the respective recess of the barrel slide when the barrel is locked to the barrel slide.

Abstract: A silent launching system for projectiles having a launch tube with a breech to receive a special cartridge and a constricted muzzle and containing a sabot. The projectile, such as an arrow, is loaded tail-first into the muzzle to contact the sabot. When the cartridge is fired, the sabot and projectile accelerate toward the muzzle, where the sabot is arrested in the constriction and the projectile continues out the muzzle to the target. The arrested sabot traps the expanding gases within the launch tube, providing a flashless, smokeless, and noiseless launch.

Abstract: The invention disclosed herein provides a system and a method for a single-use firearm and personal defense system. The system includes a single-use firearm capable of firing a projectile. The single-use firearm capable of firing a projectile comprises a firearm frame, at least a first barrel, a trigger operable to actuate a striking of at least a first ammunition cartridge, and an ammunition locking system, wherein the ammunition locking system permanently locks the at least first ammunition cartridge within the firearm, whereby once locked, the at least a first ammunition cartridge may not be removed or reloaded without permanently damaging the firearm. The system also incorporates internal electronics for, among other things, tracking, notifying, and monitoring the firearm and its users.

Abstract: A pistol has a housing, a barrel slide, a barrel and a locking device for locking the barrel to the barrel slide. The locking device is formed by a head of the barrel, a locking block and a pair of locking bodies. The locking bodies engage the barrel slide by the action of the locking block and thus lock the barrel to the barrel slide. The locking block has two first wedge surfaces which are symmetrical about a longitudinal center plane. Each locking body is an elongated cylinder having a second wedge surface which faces the other locking body and interacts in a sheetlike manner with the first wedge surfaces of the locking block. Abstract: A muzzle-loader bullet system includes a pre-packaged propellant charge and primer for providing efficient loading and unloading of the muzzleloader. The muzzleloader accepts in the breech end the propellant containment vessel that abuts against a constriction portion with a reduced diameter portion. The propellant containment vessel having an end portion with a tapered surface that conforms to the constriction portion surface. A projectile is inserted in the muzzle end and seats against the constriction portion. The propellant containment vessel may be received in a removable breech plug. The constriction portion may be part of the breech plug or a separate component secured in the barrel by way of the breech plug. The containment vessel further comprises a primer mechanism that may be integrated into the proximal end of the containment vessel.

Abstract: An automatic firearm that includes a unitary portion including a human interface and a barrel defining a longitudinal dimension. A slidable portion is attached to the unitary portion so as to permit the slidable portion to slide in the longitudinal dimension. The slidable portion includes at least a portion of a firing chamber. In addition, a lock is adapted to selectably fix the slidable portion relative to the unitary portion.
