    摘要： A refrigerator in which a machine room and an air cooling chamber having an evaporator, are placed at a top of a cabinet to maximize the storage capacity of lower sections of storage compartments. The refrigerator includes a cabinet defining a storage compartment therein. A top projection part is formed by projecting a rear portion of a top of the cabinet upward. The top projection part defines the air cooling chamber therein, such that the air cooling chamber extends upward from an upper portion of the storage compartment. The machine room is defined on the top of the cabinet at a position in front of the top projection part, and receives a compressor and a condenser therein.

The projecting part is upwardly projected from a predetermined position on the upper portion of the cabinet to define an air cooling chamber, and the air cooling chamber is defined in an upward direction from the upper portion of the storage compartment. The evaporator and cool air circulating fan are installed in the air cooling chamber defined in the projecting part. The machine room is provided on the upper portion of the cabinet at a position opposed to the projecting part. A compressor and a condenser are installed in the machine room.

    摘要： An enclosed structure is provided for use with a refrigerator having a door assembly. The enclosed structure preferably contains superinsulation materials and a plurality of matching drawers. The enclosed structure preferably includes corner joints which minimize thermal energy transfer between adjacent superinsulation panels. The refrigerator may include a cooling system having a thermoelectric device for maintaining the temperature within the refrigerator at selected values. If desired, a fluid cooling system and an active gasket may also be provided between the door assembly and the enclosed structure. The fluid cooling system preferably includes a second thermoelectric device to maintain the temperature of fluid flowing through the active gasket at a selected value. The drawers associated with the refrigerator may be used for gathering, processing, shipping and storing food or other perishable items.
