Abstract: A system and method for removing condensate from an air conditioning unit is disclosed. The system comprises a conduit including an outlet portion that is connected to a chamber of a housing of the unit at a first location. The conduit includes an inlet portion that is connected to the chamber at a second location where condensate accumulates. A gravitational separator portion which extends below the second location is connected to the outlet portion and the inlet portion. A draining portion having an orifice for allowing condensate to exit the conduit is connected to the gravitational separator portion below the second location. The first location is chosen such that during operation of the unit the pressure at the first location is less than the pressure at the second location.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a refrigerator. The refrigerator according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: an evaporator; a defrost heater; a temperature sensor to sense ambient temperature around the evaporator; and a controller to control the defrost heater, wherein the controller is configured to: perform a defrost operation mode in a case of reaching a defrosting operation start time point; perform, based on the defrost operation mode, a continuous operation mode in which the defrost heater is continuously turned on, and a pulse operation mode in which the defrost heater is repeatedly turned on and off; and perform the continuous operation mode again after performing the pulse operation mode. Accordingly, defrosting efficiency may be improved, and power consumption may be reduced.

Abstract: A method for retrofitting an aircraft air conditioning unit drainage system comprises the step of removing drain pipe from the unit housing. A hole from which the drain pipe extends is plugged. A first location within a unit housing is determined where during operation of the unit air pressure is lower than at a second location. A second location below the first location is also determined where pooling occurs. A first and a second conduit with first and second internal diameters are respectively located at the first and the second locations. The first conduit and the second conduit are connected to a third conduit which extends generally vertically and which has a third internal diameter that is generally equal to the first internal diameter. A fourth conduit with a fourth internal diameter that is less than the second internal diameter is connected to the third conduit below the second location.
