摘要： A device for cleaning a chimney preferably includes a rod assembly, cleaning arms, fan blades, a camera, and a stabilizing/positioning assembly. The cleaning arms are provided on an assembly that includes a rotatable hub with the cleaning arms extending from the hub. The fan blades may also extend from the hub or they may be provided separately. The camera is continuously rotatable around the longitudinal axis to allow an uninterrupted 360° scan of the chimney. The stabilizing/positioning assembly is effective to position the cleaning assembly hub a pre-selected stabilizing/positioning distance from an interior wall of a chimney while the hub rotates in the chimney. The cleaning and fan hub(s) is driven by a cable surrounded by a casing that allows the cable to rotate in the casing without rotating the casing. Controls allow the operator to control the speed and direction of the cleaning arms and the camera.

摘要： A chimney cleaning apparatus and method of using the same to clean a chimney. The chimney cleaning apparatus comprises a support structure for attaching the chimney cleaning apparatus adjacent an exhaust outlet of a chimney. An adjustable rotatable arm is supported by the support structure and a drive mechanism rotates the adjustable rotatable arm relative to the support structure. A cable is attached to a free end of the adjustable rotatable arm and the cable, during use, extending into a discharge passage of the chimney to facilitate cleaning of the chimney when the drive mechanism rotates the adjustable rotatable arm.

摘要： A cleaning brush for scraping the interior of circular chimney flues and stove pipes. The brush has a central threaded rod from which blades radially project in a spiralled arrangement. The blades are just greater in length than the radius of the flue or stove pipe, and connect to the central rod by passing the rod through any one of a series of holes formed in the blade. The blades are adjusted for wear by passing the rod through a different hole. The blades are clamped into the spiral arrangement by being sandwiched between upper and lower washers secured by nuts to the rod. Each blade comprises two U-shaped thin metal members, which may be slats from a venetian blind, adhered back to back. The brush has a dust shield disposed beneath the blade assembly for suppressing passage of dust into living spaces. Optionally, the dust shield comprises a receptacle for retaining dislodged soot.

The apparatus is made up of a flexible shaft connected to a cleaning brush or tool. The flexible shaft can be extended through the use of attached couplings to create an infinitely long cleaning apparatus. The cleaning brushes and tools are configured in a variety of sizes with differing configurations of bristled appendages for specific applications. At least some of the cleaning appendages are partially covered with a sleeve. In one embodiment, cleaning brushes are described for general cleaning and maintenance of ducts. In another embodiment, a tool is used to locate duct blockages. In yet another embodiment, cleaning brushes and tools are described for cleaning and maintaining chimneys, A method is also described for preparing a flexible shaft for use with the cleaning brushes and tools of the present invention.

摘要： A chimney sweeping device is disclosed. The device includes a frame which is mounted on the flue at the top of the chimney. The top section of the frame is enclosed on its three sides and top and has a pair of trap doors hingably mounted on its bottom side. The bottom section of the frame consists of four angle iron legs, at least two of which are hingably mounted to the flue so that the frame may be tipped or tilted away from the top of the flue. A chimney sweeping brush and a weight for pushing the brush down the chimney are provided and are suspended inside the frame via a central pulley mounted at the apex of the top section. Apparatus responsive to the position of the block and brush is provided to open and close the trap doors so that when the block and brush are raised to their highest-most storage position inside the top section of the frame, the trap doors are pulled up closed to seal the top section, and so that when the block and brush are lowered the trap doors drop open to permit their passage therethrough and on down into the chimney flue for cleaning. The cable suspending the block and brush travels through a pulley system across the roof and down the side of the house to a winch system whereby a chimney sweeping operation may be accomplished from the ground.

摘要： A chimney cleaning device includes a brush support housing mounted on top of the chimney, and a roller assembly at the base of the chimney for reciprocating the brush in the chimney flue. The brush support housing includes a hood for suspending the brush and a plurality of legs interpivotally associated with each other and the hood for adjusting the position of the legs to adapt to various sizes and types of chimney constructions. The roller assembly is insertable into the ashbox of the chimney and includes a frame for supporting a rotatable cable drum at one end and a pair of pulleys at its other end about which a pair of cables for moving the brush are trained. The roller assembly may be manually operated or motorized and includes a housing for supporting the frame within the ashbox which includes a door providing access to the interior for cleaning of the ashbox.
