Abstract:
A cradle system for a steam generator having four flat diaphragm walls at right-angles to one another comprises a number of cradles. Each cradle has flexural members extending over a portion of the generator periphery which are connected to the diaphragm walls by pressure elements. The construction of the flexural members differs from one cradle to the next. The differences between the construction of successive cradles improve the resistance of the generator to earthquakes, in that forces acting diagonally on the generator are converted into bending loads, which are distributed over large regions of the diaphragm walls.
Abstract:
Apparatus is disclosed for maintaining the buckstays of a steam generator level. Upper and lower buckstays are mounted in a cantilever fashion from vertically expanding steam generator furnace walls. A first rigid member extends vertically upward from the lower buckstay and a second rigid hollow member extends vertically downward from the upper buckstay and telescopically engages the first member. The bending moment of each buckstay around its support is resisted by a horizontal force acting between the two vertical members through their telescopic engagement.
Abstract:
A boiler for cooling waste gases has side walls including a pair of opposite side walls defining a passage through which the waste gases flow, cooling-tube sections in the passage against the walls, and at least one tubular tie rod having outer ends anchored in the opposite side walls and extending transversely through the passage, A coolant is pumped through the cooling-tube sections and through the tubular tie rod. The tie rod extends straight through the passage and is braced at its ends under tension against the opposite side walls.
Abstract:
A boiler plant, which comprises a boiler (2) and a frame (1) of a boiler house surrounding the boiler. In addition, the boiler plant comprises support structures (3), by which the walls of the boiler (2) are supported laterally to the frame (1) of the boiler house. In addition, the invention relates to a support structure (3) and a method for supporting the walls of a boiler (2) of a boiler plant.
