Abstract: A pump system can include a tube disposed about a rotor. The rotor can be configured to drive fluid through the tube as the rotor rotates. The tube can be replaceable when the tube fails. The pump system can include a processor configured to determine a predicted number of revolutions of the rotor before the tube fails based on a number n of past tube failure detection (TFD) events. Each past TFD event can have a corresponding nth TFD value based at least in part on the number of revolutions the rotor had rotated before the tube failed. When n=0, the predicted number of revolutions can be set to a putative value, and when n=1, the predicted number of revolutions can be based at least in part on the first TFD value and the putative value.

Abstract: A system includes first and second sensors, and a controller. The first and second sensors are operable to attach to a water tank that supplies a building with water. The first sensor is configured to determine that a water level in the tank has fallen below a first level. The second sensor is configured to determine that the water level has risen to at least a second level. The controller includes a processor that is communicatively coupled to the sensors. The processor receives, from the first sensor, an indication that the water level has fallen below the first level. In response, the processor generates a signal to activate a pump that delivers water to the tank. The processor additionally receives, from the second sensor, an indication that the water level has risen to at least the second level. In response, the processor generates a signal to deactivate the pump.

Abstract: A paint sprayer includes an end bell, a motor connected to the end bell, a pump drive connected to the end bell, a pair of protrusions attached to an extending from the end bell such that each protrusion is cantilevered from the end bell, and a pump assembly comprising a pair of mounting holes and containing a piston. The pair of mounting holes is adapted to receive and slide onto the pair of protrusions to mount the pump assembly on the end bell as well as slide off of the pair of protrusions to remove the pump assembly from the end bell. The pump drive is configured to covert rotational motion output by the motor to reciprocal motion. The pump assembly is configured to pump paint when reciprocated by the pump drive while mounted on the end bell.

Abstract: A method for detecting head crashing in a linear compressor includes sampling a rolling average of a peak applied voltage and a desired peak current each time that a current controller adjusts the desired peak current. The method also includes calculating a linear regression for a predicted peak applied voltage as a function of the desired peak current, calculating the predicted peak voltage for the motor of the linear compressor with the linear regression and a current value for the desired peak current from the current controller, and establishing that a piston of the linear compressor is soft crashing when the predicted peak voltage is different than the current value for the rolling average of the peak applied voltage by more than a threshold value.
