Abstract: A method of forming a wind turbine foundation includes providing an anchor cage in an excavation pit, the anchor cage including an upper flange, a lower flange, and a plurality of anchor bolts extending therebetween. A first cementitious material is directed into the excavation pit so that the anchor cage becomes at least partially embedded in the material, which is allowed to cure to form a rigid body. A connecting element is selectively engaged with the upper flange and an actuating element is positioned in operative relation with the connecting element, the connecting and actuating elements positioned in non-contact relation with the anchor bolts. The actuating element is actuated relative to the connecting element to raise the upper flange from the rigid body into a leveled position. A second cementitious material is directed into a space beneath the raised upper flange and is allowed to cure to form a support layer.

Abstract: The invention relates to the foundation for a wind turbine, wherein the foundation (10) comprises essentially prefabricated elements, preferably made from reinforced concrete, having a first, vertically extending base-like section (11) on which a tower of the wind turbine can be mounted. Also comprising a second essentially horizontally extending section (12) designed as the foundation body which is in contact with the ground (100). The first section (11) is mounted above the second section (12) and comprises at least one closed base element (14), preferably sleeve-shaped that is either annular or polygonal, and the second section (12) is formed from at least two horizontal elements (22) that have a support section (25) for the first section (11), preferably base-like, which is divided into at least two partial regions (29, 30) by a recess (33), preferably accessible, provided between the partial regions (29, 30) and from which at least one is holdingly connected to the first section (11) thereover.

Abstract: A method of forming a foundation (26) of a wind turbine (10) including a tower (12) having a base tower section (24), comprising: mounting a levelling apparatus (56) to an anchor cage (30), the anchor cage (30) including a plurality of anchor bolts (36) extending between an upper flange (34) and a lower flange (38), the levelling apparatus (56) being arranged between the upper and the lower flanges (34, 38); arranging the anchor cage (30) in an excavation pit (94); directing a cementitious material into the excavation pit (94) so that the upper flange (34) becomes at least partially embedded within the first cementitious material; allowing the cementitious material to cure to form a rigid body (28, 90); actuating the levelling apparatus (56) to raise the upper flange (34) from the rigid body (28, 90) into a levelled position; directing a grout material (32) into a space beneath the raised upper flange (34); and allowing the grout material (32) to cure to form a support layer. The invention extends to an anchor cage arrangement and a system for forming a wind turbine foundation.

Abstract: An equipment canister for supporting and enclosing electrical equipment of a wind turbine. The canister comprises: a housing defining or containing at least one internal platform for supporting the equipment; a lifting interface on a top of the housing; an at least one support formation positioned on or projecting laterally beyond a side wall of the housing. The support formation is capable of supporting the weight of the canister suspended therefrom when the canister is installed within a monopile wind turbine foundation. Various wind turbine arrangements and wind turbine assembly methods incorporating such a canister are also described.
