Abstract:
A pole step apparatus for fiberglass utility poles can have a supporting body is disclosed, having a bended portion with a brace on the supporting body; a grip surface distal to the bended portion; a nut on a threaded portion of the supporting body to tighten the brace toward the bended portion via the threaded portion of the supporting body; a passthrough in the brace formed can accommodate a supporting body and resists rotation; the bended portion is formed on the supporting body at a 90-degree angle; an arc is formed on the brace adjacent to the bended portion; and the brace resists rotation via a non-cylindrical, anti-rotational portion of the supporting body.
Abstract:
A ladder and ladder accessory are provided including an accessory that may be coupled to the ladder in multiple configurations and serve multiple purposes. In one embodiment, a pair of components are each selectively coupled with associated rails of a ladder in a first, stored state, and a second, walkthrough state. When in the walkthrough state, the components extend upwards from and above the rails so that a user may gasp the components and step between the components when transitioning from the ladder to an elevated surface (e.g., a roof) or vice versa. In another embodiment, the components may be coupled to the ladder such that they extend in a direction that is substantially transverse to a plane through which the rails extend. When in this transverse orientation, the components may be used as a stand-off device.
Abstract:
A boat or recreational vehicle ladder apparatus is provided. One aspect of the present ladder apparatus includes an elongated extension handle including a slot adjacent a lower end thereof. Another aspect of a boat or recreational vehicle ladder apparatus provides a snap-on step tread which can be mounted to a dual-tubular ladder step structure. Another aspect of a boat or recreational vehicle ladder apparatus employs a laterally expandable ladder step which can be retrofit onto an existing ladder. A further aspect employs clasps or hooks to attach and retain a ladder step to generally vertical ladder rails in a tool-free and fastener-free manner.
Abstract:
A blow-molded plastic female interconnection system has a receiving section and a locking section. The receiving section receives a male interconnect. The receiving section has a floor aperture shaped to allow the corresponding male interconnect be pushed into the locking section. The floor aperture can have various shapes depending on the shape of the male interconnect. Within the receiving section is a locking projection on the receiving section's back wall and the locking projection has a bottom section that defines a portion of the ceiling of the locking section which has no back wall. When the male interconnect is being pushed into the locking section, the locking projection deforms due to the locking sections no back wall. When the male interconnect is below the locking projection, the locking projection bottom section is positioned on the male interconnect to securely interconnect the male and female units.
Abstract:
A ladder made by plastic material includes a first ladder unit which includes two side rails with a plurality of rungs integrally connected between the two side rails. A head step is integrally connected to two respective top ends of the two side rails. The first ladder unit includes an open first side and a closed second side. Each of the rungs includes a latitude rib and altitude ribs connected to an inner periphery of the open first side so as to define a plurality of chambers in the open first side of each rung, and each side rail includes two sidewalls and a plurality of latitude ribs connected between the two sidewalls so as to define chambers separated by the latitude ribs. Each rung has an anti-slip top surface. A second ladder unit can be pivotably connected to the first ladder unit at two respective head steps.
Abstract:
A device supported by a ground surface and a structure for at least one of elevating and descending a user. The device includes a first guide rail having a first channel extending along a length thereof and a second guide rail having a second channel extending along the length thereof. At least one connector connects the first guide rail with the second guide rail at a predetermined location along a length thereof so that said first channel and said second channel face inwards towards each other. A platform for supporting the user having a predetermined amount of weight is connected within each of the first and second channels and between the first guide rail and second guide rail. The device further includes means for moving the platform along the length of each of the first channel and the second channel. Upon the moving means being engaged by a user, the platform is moved distally towards at least one of a first end of the guide rails and a second end of the guide rails opposite the first end thereby moving the user therealong.
Abstract:
A walking ladder which has a pair of ladder sections each section having a pair of spaced apart elongated members and a series of steps spaced apart and extending across the space between the elongated members. A pair of hinges are provided with each hinge pivotally coupling corresponding ends of the elongated members so that said sections have an A-shape when in an operating position. The hinges are confined to a width bounded by sides of the elongated members. A user straddles the walking ladder and removes his/her weight from one step and transfers it to another enabling the user to move one section of the ladder relative to the other and hence walk.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to apparatus and methods that facilitate access to space defined at least in part by a generally vertical surface. The apparatus of the present invention includes a tread and legs, each end of each leg may be efficiently inserted into appropriately sized and shaped receiving apertures within the generally vertical. The apparatus includes safety stops that assist a person to safely step onto the tread and a face of the tread on which information may be carried.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a rail for a ladder. The method may include pultruding in a longitudinal direction, a rail having a selected cross-sectional shape. The rail may then be cut to a predetermined length at a distal end. A force may be applied, in a lateral direction, to the rail to form a curvature therein. The curvature may be characterized by a flared portion, a straight portion, and a curved region providing the transition therebetween. The rail may be held at the desired curvature for a time selected for the rail to take on the curvature substantially permanently. The force may then be removed and the rail may be assembled into a ladder.
Abstract:
A hunting ladder for attachment to a tree or pole includes a plurality of ladder sections that can be assembled together to form a rigid structure, including side rails and rungs extending between the side rails. In an exemplary embodiment, the side rails comprise elongate structural beams. External bolsters, shaped to match and closely abut the structural beams and adapted to be mounted to the outside of adjacent ladder sections, couple the ladder sections together. Fasteners extendable through the side bolsters and the structural beams allow adjacent ladder sections to be coupled together and uncoupled, as desired. In an exemplary embodiment, a seat is attached to an upper portion of the ladder without requiring attachment of the seat to the tree or pole.
