Abstract: The present disclosure envisions an externally controllable adjustment assembly which is carried on the bolt of a latch assembly. The externally controllable adjustment assembly is generally flush-mounted relative to the exterior surfaces of a corresponding panel and structure. A small access opening is provided to access the adjustment assembly so as to help maintain the aerodynamic design of the latch. The externally controllable adjustment assembly includes an adjuster which works with an adjuster body. An external force is applied by the adjuster to one end of the adjuster body to transfer forces to a plunger positioned at the opposite end of the adjuster body. Adjustment of the plunger helps to adjust the latching force of the latch on the structure. The present disclosure allows for controllable external adjustment as well as controllable preloading of the forces on the latch. The adjuster can be controllably preloaded by using a torque-wrench or torque measuring device to make adjustments to a desired level of force.

Abstract: An improved structure of a torsional force activated latch bolt is disclosed. The latch bolt has a body including a hook hole, a latch hole and a bolt hole, the hook hole allowing the insertion of a buttoning head, the latch hole allowing the mounting with a latch and the bolt hole being provided with a latch bolt and a spring, characterized in that the rear end of the latch bolt is connected with a torsional spring, and the latch bolt is torsionally actuated by the exertion force of the torsional spring such that a notch of the latch bolt is engaged with a circular slot of the buttoning head forming a locking position, or by means of an actuating block of the latch urges the latch bolt to torsionally actuate in a reverse position such that the notch of the latch bolt to disengage from the circular slot of the buttoning head forming an unlocking position.

Abstract: A latch including a housing having side members each having an elongated slot, a bolt mounted rotatably to the housing and positioned between the side members of the housing, an adjustment mechanism, and a pin and roller positioned slidably within the elongated slots of the side members of the housing. The adjustment mechanism includes a compression spring, a central cap for receiving the pin and roller therethrough, and a nut for adjusting the load on the compression spring. The bolt is moveable between a first, closed position, in which the pin and roller are engaged with the bolt, and a second open position, in which the pin and roller are disengaged from the bolt. The latch can be opened automatically when a defined load, as adjusted by the adjustment mechanism, is provided on the bolt to disengage the pin and roller from the bolt.
