Abstract:
The present invention provides a modified finishing trowel tool comprising a blade having a contact surface with a planar and convex component. One edge of the longitudinal edge of the blade is configured with a protruding convex surface such that when pushed or parallel with the trowel handle a uniform concave channel way is formed along the surface of the semi-cured cementitious surface. Thus when the trowel is oriented in a substantially horizontal position along the surface and moved along its longitudinal direction, a concave indentation is created in the cementitious material. This trowel is particularly useful in forming a uniform drainage ditch along the surface of the final, cured cementitious material such as along the perimeter of a cement basement floor.

A concrete screeding device for screeding uncured concrete placed at a support surface includes a screed head having a grade setting device and a vibrating member, and an extendable and retractable boom. A base end of the boom is attached at a base structure and the screed head is supportable at a distal end of the boom. The boom is extendable so as to position the screed head at a distance of at least 20 feet from the base structure, and the screed head is movable between its extended location and the base structure to screed the concrete placed at the support surface.
Abstract:
A screed guide drain adaptor includes a circular disk with a recessed circular center portion defined therein. The recessed circular center portion creates a transition between an outer ring portion and the recessed circular center portion. The screed guide drain adaptor includes a drain aperture defined within the recessed circular center portion. The screed guide is made of a rigid material.
Abstract:
A forming device for forming an adhesive composition into a ridged shape in a laying surface on which tiles are laid including: a stationary blade in which a plurality of plate-shaped tongue parts are disposed in a planar fashion and the respective base ends of the tongue parts are linearly arranged with a gap having a predetermined length therebetween; a main body which secures the stationary blade and is disposed on the stationary blade so as to be movable sideways while pressing the stationary blade from above; a storage space which is defined on the underside of the main body and on the traveling direction side of the lateral movement of the stationary blade; and a weir member which is affixed to the main body or the stationary blade so as to be movable relative to the stationary blade.
Abstract:
Disclosed are tools for use in the building construction industry to apply coatings to surfaces. A trowel is disclosed for shaping a wet coating mixture on a surface. The trowel includes channels in the trowel head. Each channel forms a crest in the wet coating mixture in response to the trowel being passed over the wet coating mixture. Also disclosed is a tool for leveling a coating on a surface. The tool includes a screed bar, a screed bar coupling device, and a handle. The one or more than one screed bar coupling device removeably couples the screed bar to a substrate that includes the surface that the coating is to be applied to. The screed bar provides a level screed reference for the wet coating mixture. After the wet coating mixture is leveled, the screed bar is removed from the substrate.
Abstract:
A finishing tool with an elongate body having a finish side and a grip side. The finish side provides a finish edge configured to form a flat concrete surface when pulled across partially set concrete. The grip side is configured to be gripped by a user. A radius notch on one end of the finish side is configured to provide a rounded edge transition above the flat concrete surface when pulled across the partially set concrete. The finish edge is configured to be sloped running away from the radius notch. An adjustable form gage can be attached to an opposite end of the elongate body from the radius notch. The adjustable form gage defines a foot with a form surface configured to interface with a form. The adjustable form gage is adjustable within a predetermined range to set the finish edge at a predetermined pitch.
Abstract:
A control joint device including a reciprocating means, a surface breaking member and a ridge member having a generally flat bottom surface except for a first ridge along, at least, a portion of its length, wherein, in use, the first ridge of the ridge member is positioned behind the surface breaking member, the surface breaking member is mechanically reciprocatable in a straight line between a first position and a second position along an axis substantially perpendicular to the plane of a setting material, the first position being substantially level with the first ridge of the ridge member and the second position being spaced apart from the first position and wherein the ridge member further includes a planar surface from which the first ridge extends.
Abstract:
A wet pad strike off system includes a frame adapted to rest on a base structure on which a quantity of wet concrete is placed. A blade is suspended from the frame for relative rotation in a plane. Coupled to the blade is the means for sensing elevation of the blade relative to a grade plane. Coupled to the frame is the means for facilitating adjustment of the frame relative to the base structure so that the blade's rotational plane can be positioned parallel to the grade plane. Coupled to at least one of the blade and frame is means for positioning the blade's rotational plane coincident with the grade plane.
Abstract:
A method of applying a protective gloss coating to a concrete floor includes applying a low viscosity organic coating to the concrete floor, removing the excess organic coating that lies above the peaks of concrete and curing the coating in place.
Abstract:
A height indicating instrument useful for preparing flat and level cementitious floors over an uneven sub floor. The instrument includes first and second rod assemblies, the first having a foot engagable with the surface of a sub floor and the second assembly operatively attached to and moveable axially with respect to the first assembly. The second assembly includes a height indicator to indicate the desired underlayment height, and carries a laser beam detector. A laser beam generator generates a horizontal laser beam detectable by the laser beam detector. Vertical movement of the second rod assembly with respect to the first rod assembly to horizontally align the detector with the generator simultaneously moves the height indicator to adjust elevation of the latter with respect to the foot. At a plurality of locations on the uneven sub floor, slurry is poured until the slurry rises into contact with the height indicator at each such location.
