    摘要: A ridge end assembly for a hipped roof is disclosed in which panel-supporting elongate members of the hipped roof are connected to the ridge end by connectors which are provided with means for locating lengths of sealing material betwen panels supported, in use, by the panel supporting members and an overlying ridge end cap. In one embodiment, the ridge assembly can include a ridge structure, a ridge cap for fitting atop the ridge structure, the ridge cap having a channel at its underside, and at least one fastener having an enlarged part for reception and retention in the channel, the fastener comprising a flexible tie by means of which the cap can be drawn into place on the ridge structure and then secured by a locking member co-operating with the tie. In another embodiment, a roofing structure comprises an eaves structure, glazing bars supported on the eaves structure, one or more roofing panels supported by the glazing bars and an end fitting including a portion overlying one end of the roofing panel and coupled to the eaves structure to prevent lifting of the roofing panels. In a further embodiment of the invention, a conservatory framework comprises an eaves structure from which the roof is supported and a cill for mounting one or more window frames located below the eaves structure, there being at least one corner and/or in-line joint in the eaves structure and/or the cill being formed by a separate connector which interconnects adjacent sections of the eaves structure and/or the cill. Glazing bars of the roofing structure may be coupled to an eaves structure by shoes to facilitate installation of the roofing structure.

    摘要: An arrangement for openable roofs, especially for glazed verandas and balconies. The arrangement is a horizontal supporting section (10) which defines an elongated guiding channel (11) having an elongated side opening (12), and a horizontal roofing panel (20) which is movable in the longitudinal direction of the supporting section (10). The roof panel (20) has a lateral edge (21) that extends into the guide channel (11) of the supporting section (10). A plurality of separate guiding and spacing members (40) are mounted spaced from each other in a direction of the guiding channel (11), on the lateral edge (21), received in the guiding channel (11), and abuts against the inner wall of the guiding channel (11) to thereby ensure that there is a play both upwards and downwards in the side opening (12) between the panel (20) and the supporting section (10). The guiding and spacing members (40) are designed so as to allow a turning movement of the panel (20).     摘要: A clear-span dome for athletic stadia and the like includes a primary network of principal structural members which are interconnected to span a space to be covered and to define the principal curvature of the dome. The network members divide the principal curvature into a plurality of openings of selected configuration. The primary network is supported on foundations, around the perimeter of the space, which carry vertical and lateral loads of the dome. Each opening in the primary network is closed by a secondary dome which has its perimeter connected to the network principal members which form the perimeter of the opening. Each secondary dome has a curvature greater than the principal dome curvature. The primary network can be assembled, without use of shoring, from the perimeter of the space toward the center of the overall dome.

The assembly is further adapted to minimize thermally conductive paths between interior and exterior assembly components in order to minimize condensation on interior components, and the one or more base plates of the assembly include gutters for removing moisture from the assembly.

    摘要: The substantially leak proof glazing system comprises a plurality of panels, each of which comprises a sheet of glass surrounded by a frame. The frame is formed of two angle members along each edge of the sheet which are slightly shorter than the edge of the sheet so that there is an open diagonal gap at the corner of the panel which leaves the corner open for receiving sealant. A resilient bezel is between each outer angle member and the outer surface of the corresponding sheet. The balance of the space between the edge of the sheet and the angle members is filled with a silicone sealant applied wet and cured in place. Channels in the faces of the bezel permit the detection of gas leakage through the seals. The glazing system has a generally U-shaped bond breaker covering a portion of the supporting structure. A quantity of silicone sealant is bonded between the edges of adjacent panels and the bond breaker, forming a substantially air tight seal between the panels. The bond breaker provides a surface which the sealant will not adhere to. The outer legs of the bond breaker are sinuous in transverse cross-section and elastically engage the supporting member and adjacent frames.

    摘要: A two-piece fastening arrangement for joining two structural greenhouse panels. The fastener is capable of connecting a wide range of thicknesses of structural panels. A cap member snaps into a base member and biases the structural panels between the cap and base. The snap engagement is between two sets of cooperative arms extending from each member, one member having hooks which are inserted into recessed areas or notches of the other member. The notched member has a plurality of notches in the arms making the fastener capable of connecting a wide range of different width panels. The cap member has a crescent shape to bias the structural panel and improve the sealing of the joint. With the crescent shape and size of the notches, different thicknesses of panels can be connected to each other with a uniform fastener.
